Religious and Political Ideologies Carried to Extremes and a Humanitarian Crisis of Epic Proportions

With every major transit comes the potential of the good and the bad. We can expect a particular reaction from certain planetary transits but within the power of that planetary energy comes the magic of our ability to become alchemists and transform the outcome of the transit to a more fortunate situation in the present or the future, opting to alter the potential the transit holds to our own and others highest good in time. You can count on the fact it will never be an easy or uncomplicated road.

Herein lies the question of potential future outcomes of Neptune in Pisces for the next 15 years, along with Uranus entering Aries again (as it once did in 1928, and before that 1844, and prior to that 1760-Uranus takes 84 years to go through the 12 signs).

Uranus square Pluto and the World Point

Uranus will Square-or form- a 90 degree angle to Pluto peaking June-August. The square is considered to be a planetary energy that lends itself toward explosive situations of an unpredictable nature (such as civil war sweeping the Middle East) which became obvious this winter-spring, bursting into our living rooms just hours before Uranus entered Aires at the degree known as the “World Point.” The World Point is where events take on an energy lending itself toward issues that concern the world and mankind as a whole. Civil war in the Middle East was followed by the earthquake in Japan and subsequent Tsunami that wrecked havoc and damaged nuclear reactors which dispersed radioactive substances into the ocean the results of which are still unknown.

The Most Confusing Planet

Neptune
Uranus’s dramatic entrance into Aries was followed about a month later by Neptune entering Pisces, the natural ruler of the planet that rules water, oceans and religions of all types, along with drugs, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, pornography, human misery and degradation of all kinds, addictions, lies and absolute deception complete with all the smoke and mirrors, trickery and manipulation known to man. It also rules actors, the stage, fantasy, fog and Disney Land. On the other hand, Neptune in Pisces relates to compassion, faith, metaphysics, and universal love and understanding and inspiration, along with a oneness with the infinite most individuals eventually seek at some point. The problem is finding the balance, separating fact from fiction and discovering what is real, and what is manmade illusion and manipulation. This is our quest.

Put this all together in the real world and you have a scenario where advocates of certain religions or political ideologies can appeal to the masses through lies and deceit, twisting of facts to suit individuals who wish to be in control of others. Does anyone remember Tammy Faye and Jim Baker? Tammy herself was a Pisces, born March 7, 1972. This is neither a surprise nor coincidence. Osama Bin Laden was a Pisces-ruled by Neptune. A master manipulator capable of leading numerous men to their death based on a religious ideology as they flew American planes into the World Trade center killing thousands more. He had been wanted by the US government for years but no one really knew the depths of insanity his extreme religious and political obsessions and ideologies could go until it was too late.

US Congress itself, is subject to manipulation and attempted manipulation of American’s as politicians lose focus of what is important to America, focusing instead on individual religious and political/party ideologies that are not geared toward helping the middle class. Threatening to shut down the government over funding to Planned Parenthood, depriving women of cancer screenings and birth control, not what the majority elected politicians to do. Think of a ‘fun house,’ where images are twisted and contorted to look like something else and you have a clear picture of what Neptune in Pisces can create.

Neptune conjuncts Chiron

Add to this the fact that Neptune has been- and is within a few degrees of being conjunct Chiron-the asteroid known as the wounded healer- giving us an exaggerated view of just how wounded the world we live in actually is.

Religious Extremism (of many types)

The extreme Muslim sects that advocate violence toward those who do not follow their teachings have inspired a battle between Eastern and Western religious values and practices that began after the World Trade Center bombing, and Al Qaida is expected to appoint another leader in their fight and hatred against Western countries according to published reports. The Middle East is in flames as individuals (Uranus in Aries) in Syria, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan and other areas protest the cruel repression of dictators and seek to change their governments and way of life. In Syria and Libya, in particular, government forces fight back massacring hundreds of civilians and committing crimes against humanity as we watch it pay out on our TV screens in the West.

Ramifications over the death of Osama Bin Laden are yet unknown. Pakistan is calling the death ‘murder in cold blood,’ and there is controversy over President Obama’s decision not to release death pictures of the World’s Most wanted Terrorist. Today, (May 13, 2011) there are news reports that 80 people have been killed in Pakistan, in revenge for Osama Bin Laden’s death. 850 people are being reported dead in Syria, killed by government forces on Friday 13. Can it become any more apparent how wounded the world really is?

America Was Born on Religious-Political Ideologies

Then again, the original idea that became America was based on political-religious ideologies in the beginning. A land where all lived freely to worship and build as he (not she) chose. The freedom to worship, congregate, exchange ideas and information, and chose leaders based on the vote. (Men only. In 1870 the 15th amendment passed giving black men the vote, and women achieved the right to vote only in 1920)

Neptune takes 165 years to travel around the zodiac, staying in each sign for approximately 15 years. Neptune was in Pisces in the 1840-50’s and prior to that the 1680’s. What dreams the American colonists must have had for the future! Neptune in Pisces shaped some of those dreams, including those of religious freedom without repercussions. The concept of the separation of church and state is credited to English write/philosopher John Locke who lived 1631-1704 during the transit of Neptune in Pisces.

The US Natal Chart
The US chart itself has a Mars-Neptune square. This is a configuration found in those to whom religious ideas/philosophies can take on magnified importance. Neptune is the planet of illusion confusion, and delusion. Or, it can alternatively soar to the highest of highs reaching for the attainment of spiritual perfection. Part of America is stuck on the idea of a religious battle with Islam; then again, America is a country of great compassion as evidenced by the foreign aid it has provided those less fortunate. Astrologer Arthur Gianfermo writes, “the US chart has Mars at 21 degrees of Gemini with a 90 degree square to Neptune at 22 Virgo which leads to vulnerability in our collective consciousness. We are still stuck on the myth of the military hero-the John Wayne General riding into battles ready to nuke the ‘Native villains’.”

Looking for Meaning in the Darkness

It is within these murky borders that we must find meaning spiritually as well as practically. We must recognize smoke and mirrors, manipulation and religious/political ideologies that serve human masters and not the people at this time. While some astrologers believe Pisces in Neptune will usher in nirvana, it is more certain that if we learn to coexist and not kill one another we are reaching the highest potential of Neptune in Pisces. If not love, then peace and co existence.

During this 15 year sojourn we will be asked as a world to what degree we will all honor and respect one another and no longer tolerate abuse, repression, murder and lies that often dictate humanity. Is it any wonder civil war is sweeping the Middle East? Uranus in Aries could be an end of the the dictator, as he is known today-those individuals who have repressed and tortured populations for decades. The status quo powers that be (Pluto) will be challenged (Uranus) by the humans that live on the earth. The humans cry out for compassion (Neptune) and freedom (Uranus) and their desire to live in harmony (Neptune) as opposed to restriction and abuse (Pluto)

The US Chart-Spring-Summer

In the US Chart, the Uranus-Pluto square falls directly on Jupiter and Venus at 4 and 5 degrees of Capricorn. Venus and Jupiter are the financial planets and Jupiter represents religion as well as the government itself and there will be unexpected and unprecedented changes in these areas summer of 2011. We can also expect changes abroad as well as with US ‘partners.”

It is a contorted and twisted path we must walk in this world as the Big 3-Uranus, Pluto and Neptune- weave their magic and beg the question: How much compassion will we show ourselves and others? Destruction or Freedom? We choose. Think carefully.

Kate Middleton-The Woman Who Will be Queen-Update

UK’s Prince William married longtime companion Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29, and the wedding was the most celebrated since Princess Di married William’s father, Prince Charles 30 years ago with an estimated 750 million viewers worldwide.

Born on January 9, 1982, Kate has a 17 degree Capricorn Sun, with a moon in Cancer. On the outside she may appear practical, sensible and tough, but on the inside she is super sensitive to the comments and actions of others. Slight this woman and you may be forgiven on the outside, but the slight will never be forgotten by her. Home, family and a partner are of primary concern to Kate, and it is in these areas she is destined to focus her attention.

With her Cancer moon, Kate probably feels an intuitive rapport with the Prince’s deceased Mother, Diana. In interviews she spoke of having wished she could have met her. Had the two actually met, I have no doubt they would have bonded and loved each other. In death, Princess Diana will likely serve as a role model for Kate, and someone she will often think about.

Kate’s Jupiter is trine her moon and sextile her Sun. This combination gives her an element of luck in marriage, with a generally positive outlook, a planetary combination she shares with her soon to be husband, Prince William. Jupiter in Scorpio is lucky for money and means she is capable of keeping secrets.

Venus and Mercury in Aquarius square her Jupiter meaning Kate has the ability to socialize and communicate with people from all walks of life, and can be very charming when the occasion arises.

Life has not always been a bed of roses for Kate, and she has some more difficult transits in her birth chart, as well. Her Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Libra square her moon. This is a powerful combination shared by Prince William due to proximity of birth. The moon represents the home and early familial conditioning and in some senses it must have been difficult, bleak, and disciplined. An undercurrent of tension and control would have been present, and she must have butted heads with authority figures more than average during her growing up years. Through these tense times she would have experienced depression, setbacks and frustration. She is prone to depression, and will always be torn between her heart and her head. (Since the time this post was written Kate has revealed through interviews she was the subject of much bullying at school). Individuals with heavy Pluto/Mars/Saturn combinations often suffer cruelty, even abuse during their lives.

During her childhood Kate learned to control through manipulation, or be controlled. Pluto-Moon individuals can be very intense, controlling and obsessive in achieving their goals. This lady is no wallflower and when married she will make her wants and desires known. When Mars and Pluto are prominent in a chart the individual often arouses antagonism from those around him/her and usually ends up in some major power struggles. Mars/Moon individuals are easily ‘stirred up,’ and can often have emotional disruptions, quarrels in the home and the home can sometimes become a battleground. Saturn in Libra however will curb these tendencies, and place a great deal of focus on responsibility and duty. This combination is shared by her husband to be, and the two should have a great deal of understanding toward one another, and toward each other’s moods and mood swings. On some core levels her growing up years were not dissimilar to William’s.

Kate’s chart is similar to William’s, being born less than six months apart. They both have a Cancer moon, which gives them an intuitive rapport with each other. With William’s moon lying in her seventh house, along with his one degree Cancer Sun, the two were destined to be together. With Saturn squaring both of their moons, they are able to suppress their feelings and focus on duty and responsibility. Sometimes Saturn- Moon combinations mean the relationship is focused too much upon responsibility, and too little on love, or the love feelings will never be fully expressed with one another. But, to a large degree, royal marriages have always been about responsibility. Their chart similarities are both good and bad. In a positive sense they have an emotional connection many people would envy. On the other hand, their moods will fluctuate at the same time and if one is experiencing a difficult time emotionally, the other will be going through a similarly difficult period as well.

William’s Moon squares Kate’s Mars and this can be a volatile combination between two people, and cause a great deal of friction. The moon is an emotional indicator and Mars is the God of War and when the two planets form a pattern like this there is destined to be a certain amount of friction. The combination could leave William feeling overwhelmed.

Both Kate and Prince William are entering their first Saturn return period. During this time Saturn returns to the place it occupies in the birth chart. This time marks a period of transformation and maturation through hardships and obstacles. It often becomes a period of ‘forced maturity, and the individual wishes to be acknowledged as a mature entity and take his/her place in society. This is the transit that separates those over 30 from those under 30, and is a major turning point in life. The Saturn return period will continue into 2012.

It has not been an easy path to the wedding alter. The two will be under a great deal of pressure after they are married. They have recently come through Uranus square Neptune, a transit that often creates a lack of focus, lack of clarity and would break up a less committed couple.

May-July the couple will both have Saturn conjunct Mars, a transit that confers determination and the ability to work long and hard to achieve their goals. It is has the potential to create harshness in personal relationships. It is called the accidental transit,’ and can be indicative of mishaps, and often feelings of enmity arise. Saturn-Mars is a combination that can involve police or military, and it was a heavily guarded wedding surrounded by police. The couple is expected to take a ‘Royal tour,’ of Canada in July and the schedule will be grueling and difficult, as represented by this planetary combination.

When Uranus entered Aries in March of 2011 it squared William’s Sun at 0 degrees of Cancer, and by June it is squaring his moon. Individuals under this influence often undergo a change of lifestyle, and can become erratic in their behavior. Uranus/moon can bring about a domestic change of objectives along with pregnancy, at times. A man undergoing Uranus’ square to his moon will often go through emotional ups and downs and indecisions, and sometimes his wife/fiancée will do unusual things. It is an aspect of unexpected events and instability, and difficult situations relating to women and female family members.

Both William and Kate will face many unexpected difficulties and ups and downs as Uranus in Aries will oppose their Mars, Saturn and Pluto over the next seven years. Their union will be tested many times over. Pluto in Capricorn will square the same planets over the course of the next few years creating frustrating circumstances, many of which will be beyond their control. They will have to work hard to maintain the marriage. 2012 will be an especially harsh period as Pluto squares the Mars of both parties at 10 degrees of Libra. This is a transit of personal power struggles and confrontations, and with Mars in Libra it is likely the struggles will be with each other.

Jupiter enters Aries and Taurus in June. While transiting through Aries throughout May it travels through William’s fifth house of children and when it enters Taurus in June it will transit Kate’s fifth house of children. It would not surprise me if another royal announcement was forthcoming this year: the birth of a new Prince or Princess!

The lanet of Communication Steps Back-Mercury Goes Retrograde

The planet of communication goes retrograde on March 30, 2010 at 24 degrees of Aries. It retrogrades in the natural first house of the zodiac representing the ego and the self. Aries ruler is Mars, the ‘God of War, and the planet of action,’ thus we will certainly be aware of it’s effects in this cardinal sign where energy and events happen quickly and Mercury in Aries will make it’s energy felt, especially in those born under the sign of the Ram, and other Cardinal signs: Cancer, Capricorn and Libra.

This is generally a thrice yearly occurrence that sends communication, travel and mail into the land of glitches and delays. During this three week period expect delays in projects, communication mishaps and glitches that can affect just about any area of your life. And expect anything that is broken (including relationships), machinery, cars and electronic equipment to go on the blink. Sometimes our mind even slows down and it can become difficult to think clearly, as it can affect our ability to process and disseminate information. This is all the realm of retrograde Mercury and it is generally best to prepare and be aware.

What to Avoid

Retrograde Mercury is the wrong time to start new projects, get married, or buy high ticket items as in the end, you may not be happy with your decision. I have tested this theory many times over, and if you start any of the above you do so at your own peril. The exception seems to be those who were born with retrograde Mercury, but many of the people you will deal with were not born with Mercury retrograde in their natal chart. It is a period of correction. This is part of the natural cycle of life and my advice is not to sweat the small stuff!

Best Use of retrograde Mercury Energy

A retrograde Mercury is, in fact a time for re-doing, re-thinking and re-working projects and issues. In a perfect world we would rest, rethink, and re-evaluate. Of course, the world is not perfect and we generally have to keep moving, but if you can view it as a period of re-doing and re-evaluating your life and situations as opposed to starting new projects you are using the energy in the best possible way. We become more reflective, thus thinking can become deeper.

Fated Events and Situations

Retrograde planets often coincide with events that seem fated: that is events or situations occur that seem to be thrust on us or out of our sphere of ability to control. Business deals and projects fall through, people break up or get back together and we have seem to have no power over what is happening. Issues that have not been previously resolved come back to haunt is. Retrograde Mercury relates to the past and sometimes we reconnect with those from our past.

Retrograde Mercury is a Cycle Not a Date

While Mercury officially goes retrograde March 30-April 23, it is actually a much longer cycle and events and energy will be altered at different levels during this cycle. The shadow period is when Mercurial energy actually starts to change and we become more retrospective. This period began March 17. The stationary retrograde period begin occurs March 28-April 1. Mercury reaches 23 degrees of Aries, at which point it ceases moving forward and prepares to retrograde back through the previous degrees, retracing it’s previous steps. The stationary retrograde period is usually when events and situations occur, letting us know the ‘communicator, and the trickster,’ is preparing to weave it’s magic and we are going into a period of altered mercurial energy that will play out for the next number of weeks. The stationary retrograde period will be especially significant if it is transiting a personal planet in your chart. Astrologer/Author Carol Rushman writes, “when Mercury stations in Aries or the First house, verbal assertion is assertive and occasionally combatant, because the mental energy is fast and aggressive in Aries. Decisions are made without due diligence and regretted at a later date. While new concepts are quickly grasped they can be easily abandoned.’

Mercury starts it’s three week retrograde backward April 2-17, going stationary direct at 12 degrees on April 22-April 24. The stationary direct period is important, and like the stationary retrograde period we become more aware of the potent energy of Mercury in the sign of the Ram, especially if it is hitting a significant point in your chart. It will not move forward at a normal rate until May 10 when it reaches the degree at which it retrograded, thus the cycle will in totality last until this date. This is the period to move ahead and start new projects.

Other important dates to be aware of are March 15 when Mercury first opposed Saturn at 15 degrees of Aries. It opposes Saturn again in it’s retrograde on April 15, and a third time on April 22-25 at 12 degrees of Aries-Libra. This is a negative, tiring transit, indicative of negative news and situations, and it is restrictive in nature. World events will play out and if you had a significant event occur on March 15, it is likely you will have related situations and events occur on the other two dates.

Uranus in Aries/ Supermoon in Virgo/Neptune in Aquarius-Pisces -Dramatic Actions and Events/March 2011

Uranus made a dramatic entrance into the sign Aries March 11, as earthquakes and a tsunami wrecked havoc on Japan and Hawaii, leaving thousands homeless and dead. Uranus entered Aries officially March 11 at 7:52PM EST. Uranus acts swiftly; squaring Pluto, the planet ruling nuclear weapons and facilities, as well as oil. The planet is at risk of nuclear incidents as well as weapons and several nuclear power plants have been damaged by the earthquake in Japan. This (Pluto-Uranus) energy will continue all year, reaching a peak June-August, as the two planets are within a one degree orb of each other. But, planets do not have to be exact to cause events. Uranus and Pluto will actually continue to square each other until 2016. Thus, we are at risk for many years to come of unexpected events and explosions around the world, wars, nuclear incidents and events, and catastrophic earth related disasters that will include water. The world is about to change is some very big ways, and it will simply take another powerful planetary line up to set it off (Pluto/Uranus square) again.

Uranus is at the 0 degree known as the Aries point. This much awaited event in the astrological world has more than lived up to it’s name thus far. Celeste Teal published the most widly quoted explanation of Uranus in Aries at the Aries point, also known as the ‘world point.’ ’A sudden outpouring of energies, indicative of involvement with the world at large.’

The energy of the upcoming full moon in Virgo has played a role in Japan’s tragedy, as well. This full moon has been described as an ‘extreme supermoon' because on March 19 the moon will swing more closely to the earth than it has in the past 18 years. March’s full moon occurs on Saturday March 19th at 2:10 P.M. EST at 28 degrees Virgo 48 minutes. Full moon energy can be felt before the peak occurs as well as after. The 29th degree is a significant one and every full moon since October has been at that significant degree. The 29th degree is about change. This full moon causes conflicts with several planets, including Uranus, the planet/agent of disruption. As the full moon approaches we will see more events fitting this description.

Neptune, known as the water-bearer is currently in the 29th degree of Aquarius. Author/Astrologer Helen Adams Garrett, wrote about the 29th degree of Neptune in Aquarius, ’World Peace will be sought and those born with this degree will be active in the process, by agreement or by opposition to the cause May be caught in the batter and become a victim.’

The ground is littered with victims in the Middle East. As the victim toll in Japan reaches 10,000 at the time of this publication, all eyes are off Libya where a crazed dictator cleans up the streets and tells the world he never massacred civilians while the UN debates the legalities of intervention. The Arab League ministers voted to ask the UN to impose a no fly zone over Libya, but to the civilians under siege in that civil war torn country this may seem to be too little, too late. Author Celeste Teal states the 29th degree is the weakest point of the sign it is occupying and often complicates decision making matters.

On March 18-19, Mercury opposes Saturn. This is a transit indicative of arguments, power struggles in the world, and accidents. It is oriented toward very serious issues and we will see this play out on a world level with debates, arguments and more negative news. We will hear news from governments around the world.

As the full moon peaks on the 19th it opposes Uranus within one degree. This will create sudden, unexpected situations that may involve weather and water related occurrences. Mercury-Saturn plays into the picture as well, creating dangerous situations around the world that occur at the last minute. March 21-22 the Sun conjuncts Uranus, a transit indicative of sudden, explosive situations, accidents and explosions that could involve fire. At the 0 degree Aries point, events will likely involve the world in a big way, with certain individuals or entities that will make their desires known. No doubt, the tragedy in Japan will play a big part of this full moon, and we will continue to hear disturbing reports. But it is not limited to the news from Japan. This is a complex full moon, and indeed is a ‘supermoon,’ for many reasons. We can expect the unexpected with this one.

March 28-29 the Sun squares Pluto. Pluto is a ruthless planet and describes the ‘status quo, as well as oil. Pluto also rules nuclear weapons and substances. We will hear more at this time about Japan’s nuclear plant crisis, and oil. Prices may go up, and oil will become a major issue throughout 2011. Sun/Pluto is explosive and relates to power struggles of all types, as well as struggles against the current power structure. Pluto rules the media as well, and no doubt reporters will be at the forefront during this time.

Jupiter opposes Saturn the last two weeks of March. This transit is indicative of restriction, delays, obstacles, negative movement in financial markets and gridlock among governments, especially the US. Decisions will be difficult to make and movement may come to a virtual standstill.

As Mercury retrogrades in Aries on March 30, it does so in the sign ruling the individual (as well as collective) ego. At this time, we will have an opportunity to re-evaluate the actions of the recent past. Actions will be slowed, but in positive light decisions can be rethought. On the other hand, hasty decisions can be made without thought of consequences, and thinking may not be clear.

On a Personal Level

On March 19 will will experience a volatile full moon and to some degree we will all feel the influence for a few hours or days, but for some it will be more intense than others, depending what it is aspecting in your chart. Those most affected during the few days before and after the full moon will be born June 19-21, December 19-25, March 16-21, and September 20-25. It will be significant if you were born April 6-8, July 8-10, October 9-11, or January 6-8. You may feel edgy, discouraged and negative or prone to an argument. Let the energy pass, and by mid-week if not sooner, energies-situations will lighten up.

March 13, Uranus enters Aries at 0 degrees, known as the Aries point, or the world point. Uranus at 0 degree of Aries is significant, and Author, Astrologer Celeste Teal writes, “Sometimes it represents a "spectacular out rush of energies... and involvement with the world at large"

In recent days we have seen spectacular acts of bravery as citizens throughout the Middle East, in particular Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, fight for their freedom against long standing dictators and oppressive regimes. This is fueled by the energy of Uranus on the brink of entering the sign of the individual and the individual ego which must assert itself in creative change one way or another.

Uranus entering Aires relates to the self, and will pertain to the will of the individual both on a personal basis and on the world stage. Collectively, groups and organizations will make their will known in the world. As Uranus moves forward in Aries it will square Pluto, the planet which represents ‘the powers that be,’ that include oil producers/governments, and individuals/entities in business such as banks and large corporations.

June/July 2011 Uranus will be part of a ‘Cardinal grand square/cross,’ involving 2 major outer planets: Pluto and Saturn. The Cardinal square first occurred summer of 2010, at which time it was exact (the planets were within 3 degrees of each other. This time they are within 6 degrees of each other, -planets do not have to be exact to create events) and we saw many changes in the world, and tension began to escalate. As a result of the reoccurrence of this square we can expect to see many changes in the world involving politics, business, oil, the financial markets and tensions and explosions will occur in the hotspots around the globe and we are at risk of natural and manmade disasters. Many of these events will be unexpected.

New York Astrologer/Author Mitch Lewis writes, “With the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus in Aries this month there will be a lot of aggressiveness in the world. The Middle East revolution will continue and a shift of power that began when Saturn opposed Uranus will change the world forever. This is a period of assertive transition, and the balance of power is up for grabs. The Saturn – Uranus opposition that we experienced the past 18 months always results in a reversal of influence throughout the world. The last time we had this was 1965-7, and that era certainly saw a major change in influence. Now that that opposition has passed we will be dealing with Uranus in square to Pluto for the next few years, which will further erode the stability of the status quo and open us up to more unusual and unexpected power struggles. Within our country we have already seen this energy begin its influence on the political front. The Tea Party is an example of Uranus’ unexpected events, coupled with Pluto’s desire for raw power. As this square comes closer to completion we will see many more examples of its force. Although it doesn’t exactly complete until June 2012, these two planets will be dancing together all year. Uranus rules things that are revolutionary and explosive. Pluto rules power struggles, hidden agendas, and plutonium. They will be in orb until 2016. That’s a long time to hold our breath.

This month will see the beginning of a new 84 year cycle as Uranus enters Aries. It briefly poked its head in this sign last year only to retrograde back into Pisces, now it is completing its entry. This is a very important event in human history. It represents innovation in technological things, and lord knows we have seen more than our share of that lately. But it also represents a shift in direction in collective consciousness. Aries is self-involved and doesn’t always see the other guy. Uranus: Last dance in Pisces-The Planet of Revolution and Change Enters the Sign of the Individual Ego

We are on the precipice of major planetary change as Uranus transits through the final degrees of Pisces. Uranus is the planet of sudden, unexpected change, upheaval and revolution. Uranus is a slow moving planet, taking seven years to transit each sign. It entered Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac on March 11, 2003, and it moves into Aries on March 13, 2011 where it will remain until March 7, 2019.

The sign Pisces often creates a ‘fog,’ between reality and the mystical world, which can become blurred to the extent it is hard to distinguish reality from non-reality. Uranus rules the internet, and nowhere has this blurred vision become more apparent than the explosion of Facebook and other social media, internet games, and even dating sites whereby individuals and players take on a persona different from his or her real life and often become consumed in a internet life of non-reality that over time becomes blurred with reality, or becomes the reality for the individual involved. This is truly a manifestation of Uranus in Pisces.

The 29th Degree

Some degrees are more significant than others and when Uranus reaches the 29th degree it is considered the Anaretic degree. Pisces is represented by the two fish and is considered the sign of devotion as well as self undoing. The 29th degree of Pisces concerns the mysteries of life as well as miracles that may not be recognized as such. The 29th degree of Pisces represents endings, in preparation for new beginnings with Uranus entering Aries.

World Events and Changes

When Uranus enters Aries at 0 degrees on March 13, it is at the Aries Point or the ‘world point,’ the 0 degree mark that is the beginning of all things. Uranus moves from mystical Pisces and inner manifestation to outer manifestation in the world. It is considered the point at which world events can occur involving us all in collective change. Uranus in Aries moves quickly, and will advance science, technology and medicine at a rapid pace. By the time Uranus leaves Aries medicine will have changed considerably and we can only imagine the advances in technology.

Many world events occurred late May-mid August 2010 when Uranus was at the Aries point for the first time, and this was only a preview of this planet’s seven year stay when it enters the first house of the zodiac for the next seven years. We saw a meltdown in the economy of numerous European countries and the BP oil spill was an event that garnered international attention. We saw travel problems with a huge volcanic ash cloud over Europe, China had an oil spill and numerous other events occurred, as we saw news of developments in medicine.

We will be at greater risk of explosive situations and catastrophic conditions around the world as the planet of revolution conjuncts the Aries point. Aries is the ruler of the first house of self, and individual egos and ideas will make themselves known in the world. Individuals and entities will become more aggressive, war like and inclined to manifest their desires outwardly. We are already seeing this energy play out in the number of protests and civil war in Libya and the Middle East.

The last time Uranus was in Aries was 1927-1935. Among the greatest inventions of that time was television. The US Stock Market crashed in October 1929. (The stock market could not crash like it did in 1929 because of the institution of trading collars ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trading_collar ) that would shut the market down. In 1929 the stock market lost 23% of its value over 2 days. It could only lose this type of value over days/weeks/months of sustained loss. 1933 saw Hitler's party come into power. The world changed, and during the next seven years and it will change again.

Personal Changes

As Uranus enters the first sign, changes will occur in the world and changes will occur on a very personal level for us individually. When Uranus changes signs this is a very big deal where planets are concerned. As Uranus enters Aries you will feel driven to move forward and accomplish things you may have been dreaming of for years. Aries does not wait around, but rather moves forward at the fastest pace of any sign. As Aries transits through your chart you may experience many changes in your personal life depending upon which personal planets Aries is affecting. Those most affected by Uranus’ entrance into Aries will be individuals born in the early degrees of the Cardinal signs: Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn. Uranus/Saturn/Pluto- The Status Quo versus the Individual-A Return of the Cardinal Square

During Spring/Summer of 2010 we experienced the Cardinal Grand Square that brought turmoil and chaos to the world and brought to light numerous situations that call for change. As Uranus advances in the sign Aries it will create another Cardinal square between Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. This ‘grand square,’ of these three major planets will generate tension that will reach a point where change has no option but to occur, and situations cannot continue as usual.

In 2010 the square became almost exact between these three planets June- August. Planets do not have to be exact to cause events and in 2011 the Cardinal Square will reach a peak in June with Saturn retrograde at 10 degrees of Libra, Pluto at 6 degrees of Capricorn and Uranus at 4 degrees of Aries. These planets are well within orb of each other and will create turmoil, chaos and anger that will lead to change in the world and change and regeneration in our personal lives.

As Saturn (the taskmaster and status quo) goes direct and moves forward in July, Uranus in Aries will continue to square Pluto throughout the year. Thus, the ‘will of the individual,’ will continue to be pitted against the ‘status quo,’ throughout 2011.

It will be a year of violent and unexpected explosions and explosive situations, both at home and abroad. Pluto also rules oil, and with the turmoil in the Middle East it is more than possible we will see problems with the flow of oil through the Middle East, and escalations in price, throughout 2011.

This explosive energy is obvious in the Middle East. The charts of many countries including Libya, Israel, Jordan, Iran and Iraq to name just a few are absolutely on the brink of change/civil war and will not go through this period and remain the same. Uranus will actually continue to square Pluto within it’s orb of influence until 2017. Eighty years ago Uranus entered Aries and changed the world. It will do so again.

What are the Changes About?

Saturn in Libra relates to law, governments and relationships of all kinds, both personal and personal, as well as relationships with the government. Marriage will come under scrutiny and we will hear more about same-sex marriage. Uranus in Aries relates to the ego of the individual and the collective will being expressed in the outer world. Aries is ruled by Mars the ‘God of War,’ and planet of action. Pluto in Capricorn relates to business and the ‘powers that be.’ This includes governments, banks, business, and underworld types of groups. It is in these areas we will see changes occur on the world stage. There will be questions about the US tax base and we are at risk of food shortages.

Governments and business as usual will be disrupted and the individual will make his/her voice known. All people have a desire to live in peace and with a certain amount of personal security. When change occurs it will be a result of the needs of the individual not being met by governments and entities. It will be in the abovementioned areas that clashes occur, ultimately resulting in change. The world is going to be an angry place to live for a while.

There are also ego driven and misguided individuals who will make their voices heard. These individuals do not have to be spiritually motivated but egotistical, or driven by reasons of personal ideology. As Neptune enters Pisces, another wild card comes into the mix, relating to religion, spirituality and idealism as well as fanaticism. It will be thin line humanity must walk in 2011.

Neptune Enters the Sign of Spirituality and Confusion

Neptune is the most misunderstood of signs, and the planet ruling religion and spirituality. It enters the twelfth sign of the zodiac on April 5 changing the mix even further. The twelfth house relates to the unseen world, the unconscious mind, the supernatural, and things and realms that are secret and hidden. It is the house of endings and clearing the deck before new beginnings. Neptune will be in Pisces until 2026.

While on one hand, the world in some ways and places may become more aware of the need for spirituality and a connection with the infinite, Pisces also rules fanatics, and extremists. Pisces rules drugs, the ocean, illusion, delusion, confusion, lies and deceit, drug dealers, ministers, the seamy side of life, painting, beauty, and the cinema and drunks. It is the most multidimensional of planets and therein lies the difficulty in understanding it. But where you have Neptune, you generally have confusion. Neptune can soar to the highest of highs and sink to the lowest of lows. And it rules water.

Natural and Man Made Catastrophes

The upcoming Grand Square and subsequent Uranus-Pluto square can relate to both natural and manmade disasters. Pisces rules water and Pluto rules oil, and Uranus in Aries brings sudden, unexpected situations and events. Pluto in Capricorn also relates to the earth, and we are in a period where the dictates of the planet must be taken into consideration. During the grand square of 2010 we saw volcanic eruptions, an ash cloud, earthquakes, flooding, and the contamination of the Gulf by British Petroleum. More such incidents will occur, and Neptune in Pisces speaks of water: flooding, melting ice caps, contamination, shortages-all of these are possible.

The Big Picture

We can only imagine the technological advances that will occur over the next seven years. How would one describe television to someone who had never heard of the concept at the turn of the 20th century? How many lives will be saved as medical science unlocks the secrets to regenerating the body, perhaps even preventing aging. Stem cell research holds the key to more than we can imagine. We are on the brink of breathtaking cures, answers and solutions.

And yet the world is in turmoil. The age of revolt and revolution is upon us. Not only in the Middle East, but in the US and the Western world. The old guard is on it’s way out everywhere. Situations and answers that served as patchwork that have not met the needs of real human beings will no longer suffice. Governments that only serve only a few will topple, whether they be Western or Eastern. It will not be an easy path, it never is. Nor will it be a crystal clear path. Confusion will abound.

This is the time of the individual. Not to become absorbed in the self to the exclusion of all else, but rather to search our common humanity for what we can attain and what we share in common with others.

It is a time for humanity to bond with the earth and search for issues that will preserve our planet for the future and respect the boundaries of what Planet Earth will tolerate before it becomes toxic. Our world depends upon it. Welcome to the revolution. It will be televised.

No Full Moon for Wallflowers

February’s Full Moon occurs Friday, February 18, at 3:36 AM, EST, at 29 degrees of Leo- Leo is the natural ruler of the fifth house of love affairs, as well as friendships and children. There is nothing mundane about Leo as it is the most dramatic of signs, and represents the showman.

We will all feel a bit like taking the spotlight, which holds a dual potential. Everyone can enjoy the being the center of attention, but the other side of the coin is that situations can become overblown and overly dramatic, and reach a boiling point with no one really understanding what is going on.

Believe only half of what you see, let alone what you hear. Thinking and communication may not be clear. This is an excellent time for any spiritual activity, creativity, or interest in metaphysics, and this path or creativity is the highest use of the energy. This is not the time to make long range decisions that have consequences.

This will be an intense full moon, full of drama that may carry over for the next few days, especially if a personal planet in your chart is being affected by 25-29 degrees of Leo. Those most affected will be Leo and Aquarius born during the latter part of the sign as well as those born during the late period of Scorpio or Taurus. With Neptune, the potential exists to soar to the highest of highs, or alternatively the lowest of lows. It is time to dream, set your imagination free, but be careful voicing your thoughts. While this transit may hold the potential to soar in terms of spiritual, empathic and creative thoughts, it also holds the potential for aggressive, speech that is not based upon fact, but rather fantasy and false information. Watch out for conditions that may make driving and travel dangerous, and remember your thinking may not be clear, nor your communication with or from others. Also on Sunday, February 20, Mercury crosses the Mars/Neptune conjunction and enters the sign Pisces. Thus, the first of the three planets in this major conjunction of Neptune-Mars-Mercury will cross over, giving a little more clarity of thought and action. Mercury will be the second planet this month to enter Pisces, creating a further shift in energy, and a positive planetary placement for water and earth signs. Pisces represents the twelfth house, and is associated with Neptune, the planet of dreams and spirituality.

The Sun enters Pisces on February 20, changing up the energy from the past 30 days with the Sun in Pisces. The energy will be calmer and less intense in this water Sign.

Monday, February 22, Mars and Neptune remain together in a conjunction Mars-Neptune can work for all creative types who may reach a peak in their particular art form, and the highest use of the energy is in serving others, and the world. Prayer, meditation, and other consciousness raising activities are favored, as Neptune is planet without an ego. The two do not generally work well together as Mars is ego driven and oriented toward action, while Neptune is selfless and about sacrifice, therein lies the inherent problem. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (and Saturn) and some will feel a desire to set themselves free of oppressive situations that have held back growth. Egypt, Uranus, and Revolution

The natal chart for modern day Egypt is set for June 18, 1953 at 11:30 pm, GMT, according to the Book of World Horoscopes/Nicholas Champion.

Modern Egypt has a 29 degree Aries ascendant. Thus, the January eclipse, at 13 degrees of Capricorn on January fourth fell within a few degrees of the top of Egypt’s natal chart (midheaven) opposing Uranus, the planet of revolution, and sudden, unexpected events in Egypt’s fourth house. (Considered beginnings or the end of a matter) The energy of an eclipse lasts long after the eclipse is over, and this was the harbinger of the revolution that is now underway. December 24, 2011 another eclipse will occur in Capricorn that will be significant to Egypt once again, along with their current President Hosni Mubarak.

Egypt’s Saturn Return

Uranus is square the Sun in Egypt’s natal chart at 27 degrees of Gemini. With Uranus you may expect the unexpected and Uranus is the planet of rebellion, and freedom. It is the consummate planet of revolution. Egypt’s population is weary and depressive over a lack of jobs and opportunity (Saturn square Mercury/ Neptune in the natal chart) Egypt is experiencing it’s natal Saturn return. Countries, like people have birth charts, and as the planets transit through the chart of any particular country/entity the energies the planets create are felt on a collective level. Saturn/Sun transits deal with the ego of an individual or a collective and often the individual/entity is forced to prove his ideas valid. Sun-Saturn transits often represent times of critical developments where situations from the outside create challenges that are not always expected. Saturn is also square Uranus, exact at 17 degrees.

The New Moon falls at 13 degrees of Aquarius on February 3. Again, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (and Saturn).
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was born May 4, 1928, and has held office since the assassination of President Anwar El-Sadat in October of 1981. He became Vice-President of Egypt in April of 1975.

Uranus is prominent in his chart, at 6 degrees of Aries, and Uranus rules revolutions. When he was appointed Vice-President by Anwar Sadat in 1975, Jupiter, the planet of expansion was conjunct Uranus in his natal chart. During summer of 1981, prior to assuming the Presidency, Saturn (as well as Jupiter and Pluto) was in Libra conjuncting Uranus, giving form to his role in the revolution.

Once again, Uranus is being activated in his chart, this time by Pluto. Transiting Pluto is creating a square involving Uranus (at 5 degrees of Aries) This is a major planetary configuration, and the end result will be change.

Pluto/Uranus is indicative of issues beyond the individual ability to control, and Uranus rules revolutions.(square=difficulties/obstacles, change) Sun/Pluto deals with lifetime change, as well as ambition and Pluto/Mars relates to aggressiveness and the potential for physical violence, even death. Should Mubarak by some chance survive this current revolution, his time as President of Egypt is limited and it would be followed by one attempt after another to remove him from office. According to the BBC he has survived 6 assassination attempts.

Jupiter will ironically conjunct Uranus again in Mubarak’s chart on February 16-24, as it did in 1975 when he first stepped into the Presidential office as VP. However there is no guarantee of his ability to hold onto power, as Uranus represents the unexpected and unpredictable.

Pluto is also prominent in Mubarak’s natal chart (career) at 15 degrees of Cancer. It is currently being squared by Saturn, and the January eclipse opposed it. (square=difficulties/obstacles, change)Uranus is opposing Neptune (in a parallel) denoting lack of clarity as to what road to take.

Uranus rules electronic technology and the internet. News reports state the Egyptian government is set to cut off all cell phone communication and the internet has already been shut down.

March 13 Uranus moves into Aries, and he will enter his Uranus return. Uranus is volatile and unpredictable and prone to change. At that time it will begin squaring Uranus in Egypt’s chart, also indicative of violence and explosive events and situations. It becomes exact in May, but is well within orb as soon as it moves into Aries. Planets do not have to be exact for events to occur.

The Planet of Karma Steps Back

The planet of responsibility, restrictions and karma retrogrades at 17 degrees of Libra January 26. Saturn retrogrades every year for approximately four months, and it won’t go direct again until June 13. At times this can cause delays and slowdowns in finance and projects, and it is a time for recessing matters that are of concern to you.

Saturn in Libra relates to marriage, court and legal situations and partnerships of all kinds, and in a general way, we will all be dealing with these issues. This is a time of reviewing these situations and often situations will come up that test your course of action and create frustration. But, out of tests come strength, and a better basis for reality. During the stationing periods (Jan. 26-Feb 12, and again June 13-July 10) retrograding Saturn often has a greater impact, especially if it is turning retrograde on a personal planet in your chart being affected by 17 degrees of Libra. January 22, Jupiter enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. The first house represents the self, the I AM, the individual ego, and is the beginning of a 12 year Jupiter cycle, as it spends roughly a year in each sign. Aries is a fire sign and we experienced Jupiter in this sign June 6-September 8, 2010 when it first entered the sign of the Ram. Thus Jupiter will be in Aries until June 5, 2011 when it enters Taurus.

Jupiter is the financial planet and the planet of luck, abundance and expansion. Whatever Jupiter touches, it increases. Aries is exuberant, moves quickly, and makes things happen. In some respects this will give us a jump start on the New Year, and it will represent a vast difference from the laid back energy of Pisces we have experienced over the past year.

Wednesday’s full Moon (1-19-11) falls at 29 degrees of Cancer. Cancer is the most emotional of the signs, ruling women, the family and home, so it is within this area that will be focused one way or another. The moon rules women: Mother’s, daughters, family members and all the women in your life. It is also the ruler of your emotional life, home, and the 29th degree relates to endings of all types.

The full moon trines Jupiter, indicating potential for harmony within family relationships and with others.

Those most affected will be Cancer, Capricorn, Libra and Aries born in the latter degrees of the sign or with personal planets being affected by Cancer at 29 degrees.

Mercury conjuncts Pluto at 6 degrees of Capricorn creating an obsessive, negative energy that is accident prone. Do I create my own destiny, or is my destiny set in stone? This is a question I am frequently asked, and has been pondered by great minds over the centuries, and probably will be for the next few centuries as well. In my studies of astrology I have come to see the answer to the question is both. Sometimes events are ‘fated,’ and sometimes we can choose our own course.

The first thing an astrologer learns is to look at the promise of the natal chart, and what it holds.

Based on your moment of birth as well as location, a chart can be created that serves as a blueprint, not only showing your strengths and weaknesses, but certain other events and situations that will fulfill themselves at some point in your life.

Some people were born to have multiple marriages, children, love affairs, drug addictions, illnesses, while others marry their first love and celebrate their golden anniversaries with their one and only love.

Some are destined to fame and fortune, while others will spend their lives seeking fortune.

Some will overcome poverty, addictions, destitution, broken homes and marriages and rise above their limitations, and others won’t.

We should always strive to be our best, and make manifest in our lives those worthwhile things we truly desire. Astrology can point out the pitfalls to your success and the times you are most likely to fail as well as succeed. A good astrologer will never tell you that you are incapable of success, but rather the times you are most likely to succeed, thereby increasing your chances of success.

No one wants to fail, divorce, get sick, succumb to addictions, be a victim of crime, lose a spouse or have a broken heart. And yet the world is full of such events.

Certain planets are indicative of events that are often beyond our ability to control. What we can do is damage control. Sometimes it isn’t about the cards you are dealt, but rather how you play your hand.

The first planet is Pluto-known as the ‘God of the Underworld,’ the “Lord of Hell,’ and the ultimate planet of change and regeneration. When Pluto comes into our chart we are often faced with situations that are beyond our ability to control, and we must regenerate our thoughts, and often ourselves, and let go of situations and recreate our lives, focusing on another direction.

Saturn is the taskmaster, and while it can bring our greatest success in a good angle in our chart, a negative transit can bring about some of our greatest sorrows and hardships in life.

Uranus is the planet of revolution and the unexpected. When Uranus enters our chart, sudden shocking and unexpected events often become the norm. Uranus is the planet that shakes things up.

Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion, and often under a Neptune transit we fail to see the forest for the trees and are sometimes deceived or suffer from self deception.

No individual is exempt from the energies of these planets, whether in a difficult aspect or what is considered a favorable one. Therefore no one is exempt from certain events in life that are beyond their ability to control, at certain times.

There is a fairly quick way to access whether or not you will live your life feeling you are in charge of your own destiny.

When you look at your natal chart it is a wheel with twelve divisions. If you draw a line exactly through the middle of the chart—the tenth house/ midheaven to the IC, fourth house—exactly down the middle, you will either have a predominance of planets on the left side or the right side.

If you have more planets on the left half of the chart, you generally feel that your ‘fate,’ is in the hands of others. If you have more planets on the right or Western side, you may generally feel that you are in control of your own destiny. This simple technique often colors our opinions about fate, or our ability to control our own life.

Of course you must also take into consideration the elements and signs the planets are in. Sometimes the planets are fairly evenly divided. What’s in your chart?

Born to Kill -An Assassination Attempt; Profile of a Mass Murderer

Jared Lee Loughner, 22, has been identified by authorities and witnesses as the shooter in Sunday’s rampage at a supermarket in Tucson, Arizona that left 6 dead and critically injured Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona.

Loughner was born September 10, 1988 in Tucson, Arizona. He is a 17 degree Virgo with a Virgo moon.

When an incident such a murder occurs, the event must show up in the individual’s natal (birth) chart. The most prominent configuration in Loughner’s chart is his Mars, at 9 degrees of Aries, located in his eighth house. It forms a T-Square opposing Mercury and squaring Neptune.(A T-Square is a configuration involving 3 planets that forms a T like configuration, that will involve the energies of all three planets.)

Mars is a malefic planet, known as the God of War, and it opposes Mercury at 12 degrees of Libra. His Neptune is at 7 degrees of Capricorn and it squares both Mars and Mercury. Mars rules the head, as well as guns and knives. Mercury is the planet of speech and communication and Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion, and confusion. The eighth house represents death, and Mars in Aries individuals are known for their tempers, and volatile actions. This T-square would indicate an angry, often hostile individual whose ideas would not always be based in reality, prone to expressing himself freely, taking offense to those whose ideas and opinions differ from his own, or those whose ideas and opinions, he believed differed from his own. He could be mentally unbalanced, without the ability to reconcile ideas clearly, and have a tendency to act on impulse. He would become easily discouraged when things don’t go his own way, blaming others and lashing out, thus contributing and insuring his own self-undoing. In this case, certain individuals representing the government became the target of his ideas, and as he could not reconcile his ideas with theirs, and the penalty for their offenses became death.

When planets are in opposition to each other disharmony will follow the individual throughout life, unless he becomes aware enough to curb the tendencies he was born with. In studies of murderer’s charts, an opposition to the eighth house is often found in the horoscopes of the perpetrators. The T Square in his chart would always be the driving/dominant force in his life, continually being ‘set off’ by any planetary influence that aspects it.

In Loughner’s case, his Mars opposing Mercury indicates a general tendency to argue, verbally abuse others, and lash out. Both Mars and Mercury square Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion, and lack of clarity. Neptune-Mars-Mercury individuals are all or nothing. They generally follow a spiritual or creative path devoted to service of others or fall prey to a life intertwined with lies, deception and unclear thinking.

The second most obvious aspect in Loughner’s birth chart is Saturn conjunct Uranus at 26 and 27 degrees of Sagittarius. Individuals with multiple planets in Sagittarius often feel the need to express their individuality, even in the face of going against mainstream thought. The combination of these two planets shows that great discipline is needed in the development of ideas. These people often find themselves at odds with the viewpoints of others, and frequently suffer disappointment, and frustration as the result. They often feel the need to destroy boundaries.

News reports state Loughner documented his anti government anger over the past several years via internet postings and letters. One letter he wrote stating his intent to assassinate Representative Giffords dates back to 2007. At that time Uranus, the planet of revolution and unexpected events was opposing his Virgo Sun/Moon. Individuals with a Sun/moon in Virgo can sometimes become overly critical of others. Normally, these two planets in Virgo would not cause such critical tendencies to be accentuated to such a point, but his T-square insured they would. The Uranus opposition stirred up the revolutionary sentiments in him, inciting what he must have considered rebel and revolutionary tendencies, and perhaps kicked his ideas of overthrowing the government into overdrive. With his Mars-Mercury-Neptune T-square he documented his plan and believed in his own ability and reason to take down the government, even if it involved murder.

In October 2010 he was removed from school as a result of numerous outbursts and confrontations. Mars opposing Mercury individuals have an argumentative disposition and cause conflict when they feel as though they have not been treated fairly, and often take an opposing viewpoint simply for the sake of argument, and are often overly critical of others. They have an ego identification with their own viewpoint, and can take affront to those who have differing opinions from their own. He also posted numerous anti-government ramblings on the internet.

Between February and September of 2010 reports state that campus police were called five times to deal with disruptions Loughner caused in classrooms. Spring through fall of 2010, Uranus and Saturn squared his Saturn and Uranus, both in the sign of governments-Sagittarius. Transiting Uranus square Saturn and Uranus often compels individuals to make a complete break from the past and attain their own freedom of action at any cost. The planet of structure, discipline and stability was at complete odds with the planet of freedom and revolution, and it was playing out in Loughner’s erratic behavior and actions.

By fall of 2010, Loughner was angry, confused and depressed. Saturn set off his T-Square, opposing his Mars, squaring Neptune, mid-October and created violent tendencies, encounters with police and feelings of being mistreated. By November Saturn conjuncted Mercury sending him into deep thought, depression, and isolation.

By late December 2010, Pluto, the planet of revenge and death moved to 5 degrees of Capricorn. At this point it was within two degrees of conjuncting Neptune, setting off the T-square between the three planets involved: Neptune, Mars and Mercury. Individuals with transiting Pluto-Mars are often involved in violence and even death. It became the time Loughner had been waiting for to enact his deadly plan. His anger/revenge would have become an obsession at this point, overpowering all other thoughts.

January 4, 2010, a new moon/eclipse in Capricorn occurred. Eclipses are often harbingers of events and this eclipse at 13 degrees of Capricorn triggered his T-Square almost exact as well as Pluto, compelling him to action.

The Day of the Event

Pluto had been set off by the eclipse triggering his T-square involving Neptune, Mercury and Mars in his eighth house.

Saturn was within 3 degrees of conjuncting his Mercury, and setting off the entire T-square. This gave him the ability to think through his actions and plan accordingly.

These two planets are known as the ‘Lord of Karma,’ and the ‘Lord of Death,’

Uranus, at 27 degrees was square Loughner’s Uranus, exact, at 27 degrees of Sagittarius, and within 1 degree of his Saturn. This transit compelled him toward his idea of revolution and overthrowing the system.

The combination of Uranus, Saturn and Pluto is generally thought of to indicate guns, explosions and extreme violence.

The Sun trined his Sun at 18 degrees of Capricorn giving him confidence.

Mercury conjuncted Saturn and Uranus at 25 degrees of Sagittarius triggering the dichotomy of these two planets in his birth chart, and the constant conflict between structure and revolution. Mercury/Saturn gave his the resolve, and the unknown second in time (Mercury/Uranus) to pull the trigger.

Jupiter square Saturn/ Uranus, exact at 27 degrees in Pisces Jupiter square Saturn can represent a conflict with the old order/tradition and Jupiter/Uranus is a gamblers transit, and indicative of loss. Jupiter rules government.

Neptune sextiled Saturn/Uranus at 26 degrees of Aquarius. Aquarius is considered the sign of the ‘new world order,’ and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus/ Saturn. It is likely he believed he was on a mission to bring about a new order.

2011 will be a year of continued change with as we begin with much of the world in turmoil. 2011 is the final transition as we speed toward the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012.

Jupiter conjunct Uranus (January 1-22) has coincided with major flooding in the world each time the two planets have joined together during the past year. Whatever Jupiter touches it expands, and Pisces rules water. Australia is bearing the brunt of this transit as this post is written as floodwaters reach historic proportions the first week of January. In Arkansas thousands of birds have dropped from the sky, and dead fish are washing ashore, with the cause unknown at this time. Other areas around the world are at risk of escalated weather conditions as well, as the energy of the January 4 eclipse in Capricorn continues to play out. With an eclipse in Capricorn, Planet Earth will speak to us one way or another. Eclipse energy begins long before the eclipse occurs and has an impact long after the eclipse is over.

This is the final meet up of Jupiter/Uranus in Pisces. This energy can increase creativity, sensitivity, psychic awareness and all things relating to Pisces. Jupiter enters Aries and Taurus

Jupiter, the planet of gain and expansion moves in to Aries on January 23. Aries represents the first house of the zodiac, or the self. This energy will bring gain and advancement in science and technology as it transits the house of the Ram until June 5. Thus, we begin a 12 year Jupiter cycle with the planet of fortunate action giving us, and perhaps the economy, a jumpstart the first part of the year. Jupiter enters Taurus on June 5, where it will spend the rest of rest of 2011. Taurus is the ruler of the second house of the zodiac representing money and earned income. It can’t come at a better time. Late June-July Jupiter trines the two money planets in the US natal chart bringing some financial protection to America. This does not mean the economic problems of the past 4 years are over, but hopefully will bring some light to the tunnel. But, further situations will arise during the year that will continue to create economic challenges.

Uranus enters Aries for 7 years

Uranus enters Aries on March 13, for a 7 year stay in this sign. At 0 degrees, Uranus is at the “Aries Point.” This is considered significant, and is known to relate to world events, situations that involve the world as a whole. We first saw the effects of the planet of unexpected events as it moved into Aries May 29-August 14, 2010. At that time newscasters were forecasting economic recovery, but this was not to be. But again, whatever Jupiter touches it expands and Uranus and Jupiter will be within 9-10 degrees of each other the week of March 13. Expect to see signs of positivity in the world with new ventures appearing, especially in science, medicine and technology. Aries is a Fire Sign and The ruler of Aries is Mars, the planet of action, sometimes known as the ‘God of War,’ and the first house represents the individual-the self. Expect to see many changes in the world and in your personal life. Shakeups will be the norm, and one way or another, we will in many respects view life from a new perspective. Uranus is the harbinger of change, revolution, unexpected events as well as fresh perspectives and Uranus will enter the sign that will make it happen.

Uranus enters Aries approximately every 80 years. The last Aries cycle was April 1, 1927-March 28, 1935. That cycle saw the stock market crash of 1929, and the subsequent Great Depression, as well as the start of WW11. The cycle 80 years earlier saw The Great Potato Famine in Ireland.

The Past Reveals the Future

The much written about Saturn-Uranus Opposition and subsequent Cardinal Cross of 2010 (spring-summer) shook the world on many levels. We saw explosions, disasters, European countries took a financial plunge, unemployment got worse, the Tea Party made its voice known, and politics in the US became polarized, leading to the Republican sweeps in Congress in November, just to name of few of the many shake-ups that occurred. This was not the beginning and the end, it was only the beginning. Perhaps the single most visible event was the BP oil spill in the Gulf, and the devastation to life, wildlife and the lives of those whose livings were/are made in the Gulf area. We have not heard the last of this situation, even though memories are short, especially the memories of today’s news outlets that are charged with giving us the truth. This was an explosion that shook the world as a direct result of the influence of the coming together of Saturn and Uranus in a 180 degrees opposition and subsequently Saturn, Pluto and Uranus/Jupiter forming a grand square in the skies.

Pivotal Months and another Cardinal Grand Cross

A Cardinal Grand Cross is an astrological configuration whereby 3 planets are forming a T-formation in Cardinal signs. Saturn, at 10 degrees, will oppose (180 degrees) Uranus at 4 degrees of Aries, and Pluto will square (90 degrees, considered difficult) Uranus in Aries, as well as Pluto in Libra, at 6 degrees of Capricorn in June, 2011. The three planets are in cardinal signs (Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn) and these signs are known to be the imitators of ‘events.’ When a planet moves into these energies things are going to happen, and change is going to occur one way or another.

Saturn rules structure, status quo, security, rules, boundaries and restrictions, and Saturn in Libra rules the law, laws, courts, relationships and marriage. Uranus rules electricity, explosions, coups, change, freedom, revolutions, and revolutionary thinking. Pluto is the planet of ultimate transformation and change, and as we saw in April 2010, it rules oil. When Pluto comes to town change will occur and it is often beyond individual control. It rules media, sex, the ‘powers that be,’ gangs, and at times violence. Pluto is transiting through the sign Capricorn, the ruler of the earth, business and banking.

Thus, change will occur within the earth itself-Planet Earth has been speaking to us for some time and will continue to do so. The Earth goes through cyclical occurrences, and the fact is science does not yet know what all the cycles involve. We are at risk of earth changes. The pole caps are melting, climate change is occurring and vast areas of our oceans are now polluted. Major volcanoes are at risk of erupting and last summer we saw an ash cloud shut down air traffic in Europe.

Change has historically come through revolution, upheaval and war, and sometimes through more peaceful means such as enlightenment. But Uranus in Aries will not be subtle and the desires and demands of different individuals will conflict with one another. In the US, the two political parties are at total odds, with no sign of compromise. Populations across the world have suffered from the global economic slump and individuals feel repressed, while global entities such as US Wall Street corporations and oil companies, to name only a few, continue to have record breaking profits. US Banks have been given taxpayer bailouts and continue to charge exorbitant credit card fees, while customers see no benefit. Homes continue to be foreclosed on in record numbers In some areas 1 in every 10 homes is in foreclosure in the US. Unemployment is at an all time high of 10 per cent and more in many areas. Of course, change and revolution is inevitable. It is not a question of when, merely of how, not unlike the 60’s.

The Cardinal Grand Square will produce its most prominent effects during the summer months-June-August. September-December Pluto will continue to square Uranus within 5 degrees. Pluto square Uranus is a volatile and explosive transit likely to produce sudden, unexpected events in banking, business and finance, global earth related disasters and explosions at hot spots around the globe. Questions will arise relating to taxes and the tax base and the repayment of taxpayer funded bailouts, and health insurance in the US.

The Aries Point Revisited

By November 10 Uranus in Aries retrogrades back to the ‘Aries Point,’ the 0 degree point at which the zodiac begins. It remains here until January 9 2012. World situations and events are known to occur at this degree and it has major significance. Astrologer Celeste Teal states, ‘it (0 degree Aries point) represents a spectacular out rush of energies and involvement with the world at large.

Neptune enters Pisces

Neptune has been in Aquarius, the sign of ‘universal understanding and one-ness since January 29, 1998. On April 5 Neptune enters Pisces, the sign it is at home in until August 6 when it retrogrades back into Aquarius for a final 6 month stay until it reenters Pisces February 2012 where it will stay until 2026. Neptune changing signs is a very big deal.

Neptune is the most often misunderstand and overlooked planet in astrology. Little wonder it is misunderstood when the same planet that represents prostitutes and also rules preachers.

Pisces represents the twelfth house of the zodiac. It is the house of things secret and hidden, the unconscious mind, seclusion, and from whence all thoughts originate. Volumes have been written about Neptune entering Pisces, and some astrologers believe it will usher in an age of enlightenment, love, and state of unity the likes of which the world has not seen. This idea is Neptunian in itself. Perhaps the spiritual side of this planet will soften the influence of Uranus-Pluto and help bring change and revolution to the world in a gentler, softer way than if it were in Aquarius.

While Neptune rules spirituality and religion, this is only one realm of many layers of this most complex planet. In addition to ruling spiritual love, Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion, confusion and lack of clarity, as well as drugs. Neptune rules water. It is possible that in coming years water, the very life of the earth will be of great significance one way or another. We have already seen the contamination of the Gulf and the consequences are not known, and in true Neptune fashion are not being talked about, even though some scientists say it will be decades before life in the ocean returns to normal.

Neptune was discovered in 1846, and it takes 165 years to go through the zodiac. Shortly after it’s discovery in 1865 Neptune entered Pisces and coincided with major social change. The communist Manifesto was published and peaceful demonstrations took place in Europe. Painters like Renoir, Van Gogh and Money created their great impressionist paintings. Democracy took form and began to flourish. Opium also became socially acceptable in some quarters and the Great Potato famine claimed a million lives in Ireland. Neptune is truly a mixed bag.

The Cardinal Grand Square is Collective and Individual

While most of the focus of the coming cardinal Grand Square is on world events it is both collective and individual. It will affect the world in a big way, and it will affect us on an individual level as well. The planets are propelling us all toward change, and exactly what change will occur in your life depends upon where the grand square falls in your individual chart. Those most affected will be Libra, Cancer, Aries and Capricorn. Whatever sign you were born under, it is a time of letting go of the old and moving forward toward the new and unknown. Listen to your inner urges. Chances are, they are trying to tell you something. Take a chance, and make the most of it. As the character Klaatu said in the movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still, “at the precipice we change.”

It's Not Just the Money-Planet earth Speaks Too!

The New Moon/solar eclipse falls at 13 degrees of Capricorn on January 4 at 4:03 AM, EST. Capricorn is the natural ruler of the 10th house of business and priorities. The eclipse squares Saturn, the taskmaster, bringing a dose of reality, responsibility and obligations to light. Venus squares Neptune at 26 degrees of Scorpio-Aquarius, and this transit is indicative of fraud, mistruths and lies relating to money and sex. It points toward issues between the sexes and news relating to same sex couplings as well.

Capricorn rules the earth as well as business, and issues will come to light that relate to the earth itself. We must listen to the planet speak, as it is the sustenance of all life in our world. 2010’s catastrophic earthquake in Haiti preceded the January 15 eclipse in Capricorn by 3 days. With the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction at 27 degrees of Pisces, expect more precipitation than normal and possibilities in some areas of flooding and issues surrounding water/precipitation.

The eclipse is prominent in the US natal chart. It falls in the second house of income/earned income, opposing the Sun, as well as the two money planets Venus and Jupiter. While it is 14 degrees off the US Pluto in Capricorn, it will conjunct the planet of transformation in the morning hours creating intensity and a collective desire for financial transformation in the world. Major events concerning money may be revealed at this time or in the very near future.

The length of the eclipse is 4 hrs and 20 minutes, thus according to eclipse expert Celeste Teal, this eclipse will exert influence and impact us for a total of 4.20 years.

Teal calls this eclipse, The Balance of Power, and writes, “Focus on business and national affairs, Eclipse in a critical degree: denoting potential for a central event having wide range impact. Eclipse in degree of fixed star Manubrium: flaring heat. A turbulent spirit against those in high places. For the USA, the eclipse falls over the Sun: US administration and government critically linked to larger world affairs. There is potentially powerful opposition to overcome For US, eclipse in house of earning power and expenditures; obstacles, legislative delays. Trade and labor restricted. Meditation, yoga and or self indulgences to cope with discontent. Eclipse of emphasis for Japan, Russia, the UN, Cuba, NYC, Phoenix and the NYSE.”

Neptune moves to 27 degrees on January 10, conjuncting the moon in the US Natal chart. Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion, confusion and lack of clarity. Americans are at risk of being lied to, and as a collective are asleep at the wheel in terms of understanding the big financial picture. As Neptune moves through the final degrees of the sign of Universal understanding problems will become more obvious. This transit also represents a weak housing market and a population that is growing weary of what is now the worst recession in 80 years.

January 8, the planet of love (Venus) enters Sagittarius lifting spirits and creating a more freewheeling and exuberant kind of energy for those in love or looking for love. Naturally, this works best for the fire signs. January 10, Mercury sextiles Sagittarius bringing sensitivity and creativity to the fore. Situations may be exaggerated. January 11, Mercury squares Uranus, creating accident prone energy. This is the time to think before you speak and expect sudden unexpected news. January 12, Mars sextiles Uranus, creating a somewhat exciting energy and possibility of exciting, new business ideas and opportunities. The planet of communication enters Capricorn January 13 for the second time in 2 months, creating a focus on serious matters and business over the next 29 days. January 14, Mars sextiles Jupiter, creating some positive energy and providing a planetary opportunity for some business and monetary success. January 17 the Sun sextiles Uranus, a positive, exciting transit with eclectic possibilities. January 18, Mercury conjuncts Pluto. This is the third and final Mercury-Pluto conjunction, creating an obsessive energy, argumentative in nature and aimed at getting to the bottom of situations. Previously on December 5-6 and 14 this transit dealt with revelations from Wikileaks. The transit is compulsive, prone to accidents and arguments and will involve the media and revelations.

January 19, we have a full moon at 29 degrees of Cancer. The 29th degree holds special importance and relates to endings and finishing up matters. Cancer is the most emotional of all signs and rules the home and fourth house relating to the foundation and family. This full moon trines Jupiter, a positive indication whereby we can show generosity and warmth toward those we love.

January 20, energy will shift as the Sun leaves the sign of business and enters Aquarius. Wherever the Sun travels it spreads it’s light-in this case Aquarius- the natural ruler of the 11th house of friends, hopes and wishes and organizations and friends.

January 22, Jupiter enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. Jupiter is the financial planet and the planet of luck, abundance and expansion. Whatever Jupiter touches, it increases. Aries is a fire sign and we experienced Jupiter in this sign June 6-September 8, 2010 when it first entered the sign of the Ram. Aries is exuberant, moves quickly and is the natural ruler of the first house of self. In some respects this will give us a jump start and it will represent a vast difference from the laid back energy of Pisces. Science and technology will make advances. Julian Assange may be one of the most talked about men in the world today. He is the founder of Wikileaks, the whistle blower website, that has recently released thousands of sensitive, but not secret documents, giving the world an inside look at leaders around the world and their communications to colleagues and heads of governments. Assange has claimed many prestigious awards in the past. Interpol has recently added him to its most wanted list, citing sex crimes in the warrant. This charge came after the release of thousands of documents releasing information previously unknown to the public concerning the War in Afghanistan. The US Government is now considering charges against Assange, as well.

Australian Julian Assange was born on July 3, 1971, at 2:05PM (Birth time Source: the Mountain Astrologer) His birth date was previously unpublished, but I knew he was undoubtedly a Cancer. The reason I knew this is because with the controversy he has generated, including that of the US and other governments I knew the Pluto had to be involved in a big way. Pluto is known as the 'God of the Underworld,' 'The Lord of Hell,' and with Interpol and the US Government looking for you, this planet would have to be active. Pluto is opposing Assange's Cancer Sun and this represents some very powerful forces and opposition to what he is doing. Additional, some of the major paymaster’s (PayPal and credit card services) have cut ties to his site.

Assange is a 10 degree Cancer with a 17 degree Scorpio ascendant and a Scorpio moon. The Cancer Sun reveals a gentle and sensitive personality, but the Scorpio moon (12th house) represents someone who can live in secrecy/seclusion and keep secrets. Transiting Neptune (the planet of illusion, delusion, and confusion, lies and deception) has conjuncted his Mars over the past several years, setting of a Neptunian square in his chart between Jupiter in his first house (governments and money), and Mars in his fourth (his actions/sex). When Neptune enters Pisces in April it will set off another Neptunian grand square between his Neptune in Sagittarius in his first house to Saturn in Gemini in his seventh house of partners and ‘open enemies.’ These two Neptune squares will figure prominently in his chart well into 2012, and he will be surrounded by lies, mistruths and those who wish to destroy him for many months to come.

Uranus figures prominently in Assange’s chart, squaring his Sun. Uranus square Sun individuals prefer to answer to no one and are the reformers of society. It is not uncommon for them to break with tradition. These people like excitement, and don’t like being pushed into things they don’t want to do. A Sun square Uranus individual usually appears to be open minded, but at times can be temperamental. Saturn opposing Neptune is another configuration that stands out in his chart. The Planet of Communication, Speech and the Mind changes Course

The past week we completed the second of three passes of Mercury-Pluto, a transit that creates relentless energy, and obsessive feelings of having to ‘get to the bottom of the matter, as well as general bad moods. The second pass occurred December 14-16 and was joined by Mars, making those few days significant for many people in terms of communication and events taking place, situations being revealed, and information uncovered, not always on easy terms. The first pass of Mercury-Pluto was on December 5. The final pass of Mercury-Pluto (at 4 degrees of Capricorn) will occur on January 16, 2010. If you were affected by this transit on the above dates, make a note of the events that occurred as this transit will make one more pass before completing its journey through your chart.

Mercurial energy will change Sunday, December 19 when Mercury retrogrades back into Sagittarius. December 2010- Intellectual Enlightenment and Empowerment

While December’s eclipse this year will be fraught with unexpected events and developments, if we look for the hidden message of this year’s final eclipse in Gemini, it is intellectual enlightenment and empowerment.

The 29th degree in predictive astrology relates to final endings with situations, scenarios, and sometimes even people. This is important because in our desire to move forward we must have endings before new beginnings occur. The actual lunar eclipse occurs at 29 degrees of Gemini on December 21, at 3;13 AM. Events may be delayed as Mercury is retrograde, and hidden agendas can surface. Gemini is the natural ruler of the third house of communication, and represents communication, travel, immediate family members, neighbors and co-workers. In the US Chart the eclipse falls in the seventh house, representing partners/partnerships, (at home and abroad) courts and open enemies. It squares Neptune and is within 8 degrees of conjuncting Mars. This will create angry, frustrated and confused energy at home with the potential for unexpected events occurring abroad. In US President Obama’s chart the eclipse falls in his fifth house of children and love affairs and there may be a focus on friends and family. He may still suffer setbacks in work and unexpected news.

In North Korea’s chart At 29 degrees of Gemini the eclipse is within one degree of North Korea’s Uranus at 0 degrees of Cancer. Uranus rules explosions and explosive situations in the country that are unexpected and unpredictable. With Mars square Neptune situations will be unclear. Mars/Neptune relates to fanaticism of all types, gasses, and chemicals, weapons of mass destruction, bombs, death, lies and deception and lack of clarity.

In Afghanistan’s chart, the eclipse falls in the eighth house ruling death, taxes, other people’s money, hidden agendas and secrets, and opposes the moon representing the people and the emotional life of those living in the country. Mars conjuncts Jupiter on December 19th and Author-astrologer Celeste Teal writes, “Mars is action oriented- a real fighter, therefore this planet will initiate the most dynamic events related to an eclipse. Retrograde Mercury is to a fast start living up to its (bad) name, but it’s not all bad, and sometimes it can work in your favor, but don’t expect that. It is well known for sometimes connecting you with people and situations from your past. That isn’t all good either, there is usually a reason the past is the past. Occasionally, it will bring lost lovers back together, but I usually tell my clients retrograde Mercury is a bit like a wild card. Often it relates to events that seem to be ‘fated.’ Many times the retrograde planets work that way.

Over the next few days, events and situations will become tense and there will be a lot of volatile energy in the world, as Pluto, Mars and Mercury come together at 4 degrees on Tuesday.
Mercury’s retrograde this month is significant because at 4 degrees on Monday, it is only 1 degree away from Pluto. It will conjunct (line up at the same degree) with the ‘Lord of Hell’, as Pluto is sometimes known on DECEMBER 14-15. Mars also moves to 4 degrees in Capricorn Tuesday, thus we will see a Pluto-Mars-Mercury conjunction.

This energy will become intense and volatile, and you can look for events/situations to be revealed that have not been known to you before. This will apply in the area of business and relationships and in general create many bad moods. It also could involve vehicles, arguments, relationship situations being revealed or ending, pets and relatives.

On the world stage this will play out in the form of angry energy, debate, explosions and potentially catastrophic situations in the world and in business. I look for more negative financial news, and the potential for violence to erupt. On the positive end, this transit could be used for accomplishing a great deal of work and getting to the bottom of a situation.

December 2010- Threats, Information Revealed, and Following the Money

Wikileaks, the US and the World, the New Moon, and Retrograde Mercury/Pluto

Week’s end brings a New Moon in Sagittarius on December 5, ruled by the planet Jupiter. Jupiter rules governments and it is playing out on the world stage with the latest Wikileaks release of hundreds of leaked diplomatic cables. Information, previously unknown will continue to become known to the public, shining a harsh light on US and other countries diplomatic efforts around the world, and well as heads of countries.

From a planetary standpoint the revelations are just starting due to the fact Mercury, the planet of communication is in it’s ‘shadow period,’ the actual beginning of the retrograde that will occur on December 10. Mercury retrograde is often a time when previously unknown facts reveal themselves. Pluto/Mercury transits ferret out the facts and get to, ‘the bottom of the matter.’ It is the transit of the investigative journalist, and no stone will be left unturned.

New Moon in Sagittarius-Wide Open Spaces!

December’s New Moon falls at 13 degrees of Sagittarius on December 5, 2010, at 12:36 PM, EST. Sagittarius is the natural ruler of the ninth house of governments ‘world thinking,’ philosophy, education, travel, and medicine. You don’t have to take a physical trip on this New Moon to you can go there in your mind. The theme of this moon is, ‘Wide Open Spaces,” whether physically traveling or taking a mind trip and time to expand your thinking. Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, the harbinger of expansion, optimism, and increase. The New Moon typically represents new beginnings and this will be the case for those born under the sign of the Golden Archer on some level, as this new moon falls in their first house of self and new starts.

There are a couple of transits that occur before and after the New Moon that bear notice, and will influence the New Moon. On December 2-3 Mars squares Uranus at 25-26 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces. Mars-Uranus is an explosive combination and Uranus is the planet of ‘expect the unexpected.’ Do not be surprised if you feel agitated, edgy, angry and experience some unexpected events, twists and turns, and we will likely see this transit play our on the world stage on our living room wide screens. Mars-Uranus usually refers to police/ military action and threats or violence. Several countries around the world that are known ‘hot spots,’ show the potential for violence and in the US chart the New Moon opposes Uranus, and we may expect the unexpected in terms of news and issues that relate to women.

December 6-7 Mercury is conjunct Pluto at 4 degrees of Capricorn. This is a combination for getting to the bottom of any matter that may concern you, and tends toward obsessive thinking and investigation. Capricorn rules the earth, itself, as well as business and banking and we will likely be focused on these issues or on issues that you on a personal level. Mercury rules automobiles and transportation and I would advise caution while driving. This transit will play out on the world stage in the form of argumentativeness, issues being revealed, accidents, natural disasters, investigations, and Pluto rules the media. Mercury is starting it’s stationary retrograde period and it is likely that we will be retracing our steps and looking at information we have known about before. Mercury is within 2 degrees of Pluto from December 5-15, so this transit will exert it’s influence for an extended period of time.

Retrograde Mercury - On It’s Way Again!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water… Venus finally went direct, and now..the planet of communication (and mis-communication!) will go backward. Well, it doesn’t actually go backward, that’s just an expression, but at times it may seem to.

The final retrograde Mercury of 2010 will occur December 10-30 of this year. The Winged God will be stationary retrograde at 5 degrees of Capricorn December 9-13, turning retrograde on the 10th. It will retrograde back into Sagittarius at 29 degrees on December 19, and it will turn stationary direct at 19 degrees December 19- January 1, 2011, going direct on December 30.

The planet of communication retrogrades 3 or 4 times each year. During this time equipment breaks down, miscommunication occurs, situations breakdown, delays occur, relationships break up, and people from the past, as well as situations from the past occasionally reappear. It is wise not to make major decisions, buy high ticket items, make commitments, start a job, get married or sign contracts during this time. This theory has been tested many times over—by me!. Act now and you will regret it later, if you can avoid doing so! Occasionally, this can work in your favor, but as a rule it is best to be aware of the ramifications of this energy and act accordingly.

Retrograde Mercury is a time of re-accessing situations, people, jobs, bank accounts and any number of other things. It is a time to reflect on the past, perhaps plan, but it is not yet the time to implement new goals or move forward. That time will come when this important planet moves forward again.

The most important time during retrograde Mercury is the stationary retrograde and stationary direct period. This is when you should be most aware of the powerful energy this planet is beaming down on you. Snafus are most likely to occur, decisions most likely to change, unexpected events come up, and delays occur at the beginning and end of this period.

You will be most affected by this retrograde if you have a personal planet being aspected by 5 degrees of Capricorn during the stationary retrograde phase, or 19 degrees of Sagittarius when it goes direct.

So, what exactly does this mean to YOU? It means get prepared. Try and wrap up important matters, and if you are shopping for gifts you have until December 10, and that late date is pushing your luck! If you shop later in the month, your gift may well turn up in the returned section December 26! Try and wrap up contracts, legal matters, yearend business of greatest importance, and plan to take a break early in the month-at least early in terms of your affairs running smoothly. Ideally, this year, the planets are calling for the last three weeks of the year spent in reflection and reevaluation of what our greatest priorities are, including our business priorities.

From December 9-13 Mercury is stationary retrograde at 5 degrees of Capricorn, and astrologer/Author Carol Rushman writes, “ while the mental process may be slower and more deliberate, good decisions are made due to caution and much soul-searching. There can be a tendency toward negativity and depression at this time. Organization and planning can be done in an effective manner. Thoughts of career and work opportunities can consume you.”

Mercurial energy will change however, on December 19-January 13, 2011, as Mercury enters Sagittarius and goes direct at 19 degrees on the 30th. Author Rushman states, “The mind may turn to spiritual matters. Fervor, idealism and optimism can manifest. Thoughts of travel to far off places may consume you. There may be a strong need to communicate your ideas with Mercury stationing in Sagittarius, and there is also an inclination to exaggerate and elaborate on your ideas.”

Mercury does not return to full steam ahead until it reaches the degree at which it turned retrograde, 5 degrees in Capricorn. We do not get back to this degree until January 18, which is the perfect time to initiate your new business endeavors and matters of priority, and move forward full steam ahead for 2011.

Kate Middleton-The Woman Who Would be Queen

UK’s Prince William announced his intentions to marry longtime companion Kate Middleton in Spring/Summer 2011, and the wedding is expected to be the most celebrated since Princess Di married William’s father, Prince Charles 30 years ago.
Born on January 9, 1982, Kate has a 17 degree Capricorn Sun, with a moon in Cancer. On the outside she may appear practical, sensible and tough, on the inside she is super sensitive to the comments and actions of others. Slight this woman and you may be forgiven on the outside, but the slight will never be forgotten by her. Home, family and a partner are of primary concern to Kate, and it is in these areas she is destined to focus her attention.

With her Cancer moon, Kate probably feels an intuitive rapport with the Prince’s deceased Mother, Diana. In interviews she spoke of having wished she could have met her. Had the two actually met, I have no doubt they would have bonded and loved each other. In death, Princess Diana will likely serve as a role model for Kate, and someone she will often think about.

Kate’s Jupiter is trine her moon and sextile her Sun. This combination gives her an element of luck in marriage, with a generally positive outlook, a planetary combination she shares with her soon to be husband, Prince William. Jupiter in Scorpio is lucky for money and means she is capable of keeping secrets.

Venus and Mercury in Aquarius square her Jupiter meaning Kate has the ability to socialize and communicate with people from all walks of life, and can be very charming when the occasion arises.

Life has not always been a bed of roses for Kate, and she has some more difficult transits in her birth chart, as well. Her Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Libra square her moon. The moon represents the home and early familial conditioning and in some senses it must have been difficult, bleak, and disciplined. An undercurrent of tension and control would have been present, and she must have butted heads with her parents more than average during her growing up years. Through these tense times she would have experienced depression, setbacks and frustration. She is prone to depression, and will always be torn between her heart and her head.

During her childhood Kate learned to control through manipulation, or be controlled. Pluto-Moon individuals can be very intense, controlling and obsessive in achieving their goals. This lady is no wallflower and when married she will make her wants and desires known. When Mars and Pluto are prominent in a chart the individual usually arouses antagonism from those around him/her and usually ends up in some major power struggles. Mars/Moon individuals are easily ‘stirred up,’ and can often have emotional disruptions, quarrels in the home and the home can sometimes become a battleground. Saturn in Libra however will curb these tendencies, and place a great deal of focus on responsibility and duty. Ironically, she shares the same configuration with her husband to be, and the two should have a great deal of understanding toward one another, and toward each other’s moods and mood swings. On some core levels her growing up years were not dissimilar to William’s.

Kate’s chart is similar to William’s due to their proximity in birth, being born less than six months apart. They both have a Cancer moon, which gives them an intuitive rapport with each other. With William’s moon lying in her seventh house, along with his one degree Cancer Sun, the two were destined to be together. With Saturn squaring both of their moons, they are able to suppress their feelings and focus on duty and responsibility. Sometimes Saturn- Moon combinations mean the relationship is focused too much upon responsibility, and too little on love, or the love feelings will never be fully expressed with one another. But, to a large degree, royal marriages have always been about responsibility. Their chart similarities are both good and bad. In a positive sense they have an emotional connection many people would envy. On the other hand, their moods will fluctuate at the same time and if one is experiencing a difficult time emotionally, the other will be going through a similarly difficult period as well.

Both Kate and Prince William are entering their first Saturn return period. During this time Saturn returns to the place it occupies in the birth chart. This time marks a period of transformation and maturation through hardships and obstacles. It often becomes a period of ‘forced maturity.’ This is the transit that separates those over 30 from those under 30, and is a major turning point in life. The Saturn return period will continue through fall of 2011.

While the two have announced their intensions to marry in spring or summer of 2011, it will not be an easy path to the wedding alter. The two will be under a great deal of pressure. They both are currently experiencing Uranus square Neptune, a transit that creates a lack of focus, lack of clarity and would break up a less committed couple.

By May 2011 the couple will both have Saturn conjunct Mars, a transit that confers determination and the ability to work long and hard to achieve their goals. It is also a transit of disharmony and agitation, and has the potential to create harshness in personal relationships. It is called the accidental transit,’ and can be indicative of mishaps, and often feelings of enmity arise. Saturn-Mars is a combination that can involve police or military. While her time of birth has not been published, it is likely that Saturn is squaring Kate’s moon next spring-summer. This is a transit of depression, loneliness, moodiness and indicative of issues and problems with women and female family members. None of these transits are actually favorable for a marriage.

When Uranus enters Aries in March of 2011 it will square William’s Sun at 0 degrees of Cancer, and by June it is squaring his moon. Individuals under this influence often undergo a change of lifestyle, and can become erratic in their behavior. Uranus represents ‘freedom at any cost,’ and it is not uncommon for a change of objectives to occur. A man undergoing Uranus’ square to his moon will often go through emotional ups and downs and indecisions, and sometimes his wife/fiancée will do unusual things or be a source of trouble. It is an aspect of disruption in the home and indicative of unexpected events and instability, and difficult situations relating to women and female family members.

Both William and Kate will face many unexpected difficulties and ups and downs as Uranus in Aries will oppose their Mars, Saturn and Pluto over the next seven years. Pluto in Capricorn will square the same planets over the course of the next few years creating frustrating circumstances, many of which will be beyond their control. Hopefully, they will have the determination to see the course through. They will have to work hard to maintain the marriage. 2012 will be an especially harsh period as Pluto squares the Mars of both parties at 10 degrees of Libra. This is a transit of personal power struggles and confrontations, and with Mars in Libra it is likely the struggles will be with each other.

Jupiter enters Aries and Taurus next year. While transiting through Aries it travels through William’s fifth house of children and when it enters Taurus in June it will transit Kate’s fifth house of children. It would not surprise me if another royal announcement was forthcoming next year: the birth of a new Prince or Princess!

November 2010: Full Moon in Taurus

The energy of the full moon in Taurus will begin to build by mid-week as the Sun squares Neptune at 25 degrees of Scorpio Wed-Saturday, November 17-20, becoming exact Friday, November 19. When a transiting aspect becomes exact, the energy reaches a culmination or a peak, and after it crosses the exact degree, the energy is still prominent, but lessening in its effect as the two planets begin to separate from one another.

Sun square Neptune energy creates a tiring and somewhat debilitating effect, and fact becomes harder to discern from fiction. Often, situations as well as communication become muddled, or outright lies may emerge. It is certainly a time of low energy, frustration, and feeling hopeless or confused. Psychic abilities and creativity could be enhanced, and it could be a time of increased compassion for those less fortunate. Issues with water may become prominent and we will likely see weather related conditions in the news involving some form of H20.

By Thursday, Mars and Mercury are within 1 degree of being conjunct (together at the exact degree), and Saturday through Monday, November 20-22 the God of War (Mars) is standing next to the Messenger of the Gods (Mercury) at 16, 17 and 18 degrees of Sagittarius, respectively. If you have a personal planet in your birth chart being touched by this transit, it may be a frustrating and irritating few days with the potential for arguments and disagreements.

Mars-Mercury in Sagittarius will be a few days where things can be blown out of proportion, arguments and debates will abound and it is an accident prone combination that can relate to cars and travel. This transit is exact on the Full Moon creating potential for hostility as the moon reaches its peak.

The full moon will peak on November 21 at 29 degrees of Taurus at 12:29 PM EST. Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house of money and earned income, and it is in this area our focus will lie in a general sense. The full moon squares Neptune creating a climate of uncertainty, confusion, lack of clarity and on occasion, lies and deception. Believe only half of what you see or hear until this energy passes over. You may feel tired, lethargic, and unable to make clear decisions. Weather related conditions and situations as well as accidents will be in the news.

Alternatively, it can be a time of enhanced compassion for others, bursts of creativity, increased psychic experiences and feelings and being connected to the earth and sensual pleasures. Taurus is ruled by both Venus and Mars and now is the time to schedule a massage, visit the spa or do things you find pleasurable. These are the best and highest uses of the energy.

November 2010-The Fate of Relationships Revealed

The two planets most often looked at will both move forward on November 18, making it a bonanza day, in terms of planetary action! This year, both Venus, the ruler of your love life, and Jupiter, the planet of gain, money and finance go direct on the same day creating a powerful effect on our love lives, social lives and to some extent our financial lives.
Venus, the ruler of your day to day love life, has been retrograde since October 8. The Venus retrograde period, occurring every 18 months, is often filled with romantic twists and turns, separations, breakups and changes of heart and direction in matters of the heart. Often during this time, ‘karmic events,’ play out in relationships, showing you the true destiny of your connection with that important person in your life. Sometimes, the connection is not what we hoped for, but if a change occurs as this time that is not what you expected, know that the true path of your connection is being revealed to you now.

Retrograde Venus is probably the most important influence as far as your love life is concerned, as the actions that occur during this six week period or so lay the groundwork for future interaction, and often show us the person we are involved with will not live up to our expectations. At times, sudden and unpredictable events will occur that shake the foundation of the relationships to the core. It is best to let events play out and realize that destiny is at work. Destiny can take some unexpected twists and turns and if it appears your relationship is taking a tour South, let the events play out and let destiny lead you to another person who will be more appropriate in the future. Retrograde Venus is a time of karmic interplay and the planets have a powerful and profound effect at this time.

At no time is Venus more powerful than the period known as the ‘stationary direct,’ period that begins on November 18. Venus goes direct at 27 degrees of Libra, and if ‘the planet of love,’ is making a harsh aspect in your chart you may see a relationship go by the wayside, or through a period of turmoil and change. Alternatively, if Venus is making a positive aspect to a personal planet in your chart, your existing relationship may soar to a new level or you could meet someone very significant during this time. A stationary direct Venus aspecting your personal planets could be one of the most significant times of your life in terms of meeting someone new.

If you are seeing someone you meet during or around the time Venus went retrograde you will start to know the direction the relationship will take as Venus starts her direct motion next week. Relationships begun during a retrograde Venus often end when the planet goes direct. It is often said the love energy is not ever expressed very well in a relationship begun on a retrograde Venus. There could be an exception if you were born with a retrograde Venus, but the other party might not have been.

On the other hand, if your love life has stalled during this time, as Venus resumes direct motion things can start to pick up. A relationship that has a solid base should not be substantially affected, and bad ones may end during this period altogether.

While Venus official goes direct on November 18, she will not resume normal speed until she reaches the point she turned retrograde, which is 13 degrees of Scorpio on December 21. So, until then we will still be in the ‘shadow period,’ of Venus as she goes stationary direct and resumes normal speed of about a degree per day. Many of us will be retracing our steps. Jupiter, the planet of money and gain goes direct on the same day as Venus, going us all a boost of positivity and hopefulness. Jupiter went retrograde on July 23, at 3 degrees of Aries. This action created delays in money and financial matters, and there hasn’t been much positive financial news to been had or seen. Jupiter going direct can increase the flow of money and other areas of gain in your life, especially if it is hitting a positive point in your chart at 23 degrees of Pisces. Jupiter will remain in Pisces until January 22, 2011, helping the Water and Air signs. On January 22, it enters Aires at 0 degrees for a four and a half month stay through the sign of the Ram, benefiting that sign as well as the Fire and Air signs, and those with personal planets being touched off by the 0 degree point of Aries.

November 2010- Saturn Return! Change Comes to the US from Within and Without

Three planets were in the intense sign of Scorpio as we started the month of November-the Sun, Mercury and Venus, and we saw a New Moon at 13 degrees of Scorpio on November 6. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the eighth house of sex, money, other people’s money, debt and taxes, and it is within these realms that we have been and will be focused. The eighth house also rules transformation and regeneration, and often a feeling of ‘forced change.’ Scorpio is ruled by both Mars and Pluto and has regenerative qualities. Mars is called the “God of War,” and Pluto is considered the planet of transformation and regeneration, and not without good reason.
Money, debt and taxes and change were definitely on the minds of many as they cast their ballots in the US Mid-term elections November 2, ousting a record number of Democrats and taking control of the US House of Representatives and many state held offices. November 9, President Obama’s bipartisan deficit commission proposed to reduce the annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security, curb the growth of Medicare, and eliminate the primary tax exemption for many American’s—interest on the home mortgage as a tax deduction. Any of these proposals becoming fact would prove debilitating to America’s older citizens, deny access or limit healthcare and cause the housing market to once again come to a standstill as buying or owning a home would cost more, and as a result that many American’s primary tax break would be gone, reducing the incentive to own, and further stress the struggling middle class in America.

Looking at America’s natal chart (July 4, 1776, 5:10 pm LMT, Philadelphia, PA) Saturn in Libra is squaring the Sun of the US at 13 degrees of Cancer, becoming exact November 15-23. At 14 degrees of Libra, Saturn conjuncts America’s Saturn at the same degree. This transit is known as a “Saturn return.”

Countries, like people have birth charts, and as the planets transit through the chart of any particular country/entity the energies the planets create are felt on a collective level. Saturn/Sun transits deal with the ego of an individual or a collective and often the individual/entity is forced to prove his ideas valid. Sun-Saturn transits often represent times of critical developments where situations from the outside create challenges that are not always expected. America will face challenges in the areas of the home/property, the personal foundation of the people, and the values the American people embrace of hold to be true. Saturn in Libra will create challenges where the laws and courts are concerned, along with medicine and education as well as finance, and issues abroad. Thus, this period will be extremely important, but not without danger, frustration, hostility and resistance to change.

Saturn conjunct Saturn, known as a Saturn return is a cyclical transit that occurs every 29.5 years as Saturn passes through each of the twelve signs. Saturn returns are usually associated with major changes in the life cycle that include hardships and difficult to solve problems. It marks a transition period where an individual or entity must take responsibility for their actions and work hard to move forward to the future. It is usually associated with frustration, unhappiness, difficult problems, delays, restrictions, anger and sadness.

Saturn rules time. Saturn returning to its birthplace marks a period of accountability for the past 30 years. If we have failed to create a strong foundation the Saturn return will mark a time of upheaval and limitations to make necessary changes. Saturn squaring the Sun/Saturn return also marks a period where the country is more venerable to attacks both from within and without. Values previously held will be questioned and debated. Saturn will return to this same position latter March into April of 2011, and again for a final pass August of 2011. All Saturn cycles last a year.

Saturday’s (10-23-10) full moon falls at 29 degrees of Aries. The 29th degree is considered very important and is called the anaretic degree. Wikipedia defines the anaretic degree as, “the final degree of any sign, which is 29 degrees 0 minutes to 29 degrees 59 minutes. This degree or range is considered to be critical, so any planets, angles or celestial bodies placed within that range are likely to display the most extreme attributes of the sign or planet.

Generally, when a planet is posited an anaretic degree, the planet will stand out. It is "taking up the rear", usually being the planet in the chart with the highest degree value. This is not always negative, though it's generally portrayed as such.”

Aries is the natural ruler of the first house of the zodiac representing the self/ the I AM. Its ruler is Mars, ‘the God of War’, thus this will be a fiery full moon with the potential for a great deal of intensity and drama. This is no full moon for wallflowers!

On the positive side, this can be time to get in touch with yourself and your goals and objectives, and on the other end of the spectrum it can represent a time of frustrating action and interaction with individual egos playing a big role in events that will occur. So, step back, take a deep breath and think before acting or responding rashly.

Those most affected by this full moon will be Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn, or anyone who has a personal planet being aspected by 29 degrees of Aries.

Venus is retrograde all month, and this relates to delays, obstacles and problems related to your love life, social life and sometimes money as well, and will play a role in the affairs of some over the full moon period. Venus is retrograde at 9 degrees of Scorpio and if this is creating a harsh aspect to a personal planet in your chart, you may experience difficulties in your love life, as well.

Mars is at 26 degrees of Scorpio and squaring Neptune. Mars square Neptune is a tiring, negative aspect, as a rule and often relates to drama, lack of clarity or lies and deception. Weirdness can sometimes be the norm with a transit like this, and you may find it hard to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Sleep is a perfect activity for such a configuration! Don’t believe half of what you hear on the news or in your personal life. Relax and let this energy pass before reaching critical decisions. The transit may also bring some unusual weather related conditions involving water that can cause trouble in various parts of the country and the world. This combination also relates to drugs, alcohol, the ‘seamy side of life,’ sex, and very convoluted situations. The Planet of Love Steps Back

Thursday’s (October 7) New Moon at 14 degrees of Libra will ‘kick off,’ the Venus retrograde period this year. The focus will be on relationships and partnerships of all kinds during this time, bringing unresolved issues to the surface. Venus, the planet ruling love and affection goes retrograde every 18 months. It was last retrograde March 6-April 17 of 2009 in Aries and Pisces.

By Friday, October 8, the official start of the retrograde for Venus, many of us will face a ‘reality check,’ where our most intimate unions are concerned, as the planet of communication (Mercury) line up in a conjunction with Saturn, the taskmaster, always a transit of harsh realities.

The Shadow Period

Venus has however, been in its shadow retrograde period since September 5th, and this shadow period will actually extend until December 20. The shadow period is when Venus must retrace its steps, or degrees, to the degree at which it actually moves forward again, in this case 27 degrees of Libra. Thus, we may literally be ‘retracing our steps,’ as well.

Fated Events and Situations

Venus is the planet that rules our love lives, as well as beauty, art, artistic effort, diplomacy, values and it is one of the two financial planets. Venus is currently in Scorpio at 13 degrees and will officially retrograde October 8 through November 18. It isn’t just Mercury that retrogrades, the other planets retrograde as well. When Venus retrogrades issues concerning love and relationships become more intense and it often seems that fate intervenes and people sometimes find themselves in situations concerning love where events beyond their control take over-this is the fate or karma of the relationship and events are often revealed that will show the true path the couple will take in the future.

Venus retrogrades about every 18 months. The most important period is the stationary retrograde period when Venus is starting to retrograde at 13 degrees of Scorpio October 5-11, and the stationary direct period when it is about to move forward again at 27 degrees of Libra November 15-23.

On October 5-6, Venus is stationary retrograde as it lines up with Mars in Scorpio at 13 degrees, making these few days before and after a very powerful time emotionally.

When Venus retrogrades fate is often revealed. Relationships can slow down. Bad ones can end altogether. If your relationship is solid you may experience very little, and it can become an experience that strengthens the union, as you work through issues and concerns together.

This is a very powerful phase for those in love, in relationships or looking for love. It is a time or re-accessing and revaluating our relationships. During the time Venus is retrograde in Libra, she will be in a more fortunate period than Scorpio, as Libra is her own sign. Tendencies toward moodiness, vindictiveness and obsessiveness or jealousy will be reduced. While in Libra and more balance will be sought. Tastes and affections will become more refined and Libra is a strategizer.

During a Venus retrograde period the things that Venus influences will be less apparent and visual sensibilities can be reduced. This is not the time to buy jewelry, art, expensive clothing or decorations, give big parties, get married or have plastic surgery. Since Venus rules the courts, legal situations can slow down as can diplomatic efforts. Unresolved issues come forward and demand resolution. It may be more difficult to express ourselves socially. Venus is the lesser of the two money planets, and money will not flow as freely during this period.

Both Venus and the other financial planet, Jupiter, go direct on the same day this year, November 18. At this time we can start the process of resuming our normal social affairs and lives, and the flow of money will start to pick up as well. On December 1, 2010 Venus will move back into Scorpio for the next 38 days, a placement that works well for all the Water and Earth signs, but especially Cancer.

October 2010-The Fate of Relationships

October 2010 begins with the Sun conjunct Saturn, a day of reality, potential frustration and responsibility. Mercury opposing Uranus through the third, will bring unexpected news and situations along with weather related accidents and incidents and we are facing major flooding on the East Coast and in North Carolina with 5 deaths already reported at the time of this post. This is a transit of mental expansion, or alternatively it can turn to agitation and it is important to watch out for travel related accidents of all kinds.

Sunday, October third the planet of communication enters Libra, where the energy will shift toward more balance in all types of communications and many of us will start to focus more on relationships, as Libra is the sign ruling unions of all types. Also on that day Mars and Venus will conjunct, or line up together at 12-13 degrees of Scorpio through October 6. This is a transit that will spark interest in sex, or the opposite sex but it is an aggressive combination, and does not represent tender love. If you are in a relationship that is not working well, expect problems.

Tuesday, October 5, Mercury squares Pluto, an obsessive combination and many people will be trying to get to the bottom of the matter. It is harsh for relationships, arguments could occur, but it opens the door for resolution. Pluto relates to sex, the darker side of life and transformation. This transit will manifest in the world as accidents, debate and arguments about the law, laws, governments and threats may be made.

October’s new moon falls on Thursday October 7, at 2:44 PM EST at 14 degrees in Libra, making it all about relationships, and starting the Venus retrograde period, with intensity. Those most affected by this moon will be the cardinal signs: Cancer will be dealing with issues related to new beginnings/endings and the home, Capricorns, will focus on the house of career and priorities, and Aries, will be dealing with relationships. Libras will be starting a cycle of personal new beginnings.

The following day, Friday, October 8, Venus, the planet of love, officially goes retrograde in the sign of her detriment. In other words, while Venus in Scorpio may relate to sex and intensity, the sign does not favor the planet that rules love. On the same day, (Oct 8-9) Mercury conjuncts Saturn. This combination represents a reality check for relationships, as well as other matters in general. If your relationship is limping along, or you are in a questionable union this day may bring further problems or end it altogether. All month both Venus and Mars are in Scorpio. (Mars enters Sagittarius October 29) making this a special month for water signs.(Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) Scorpio is an intense sign and is associated with sex and sexual attraction. Full Moon Maddness

Lies will be abundant, as will mis-communication. Full Moon in Aries- Packing a Punch

Thursday’s (09-23-10) full moon at 0 degrees of Aries promises to be a humdinger. The 0 degree of Aries is significant and is considered a ‘world point,’ thus, events are at risk of occurring that will involve the world as a collective on some level. This full moon comes just house after the fall equinox, thus becoming the first full moon of the Fall.

Aries is a fire sign ruled by Mars, the ‘God of War.’ We are likely to see incidents around the US and the world involving fire, military/police action and general argumentiveness. This full moon squares Pluto which rules the ‘dark side’ of life and often a full moon square Pluto uncovers situations in the world and our personal lives that were previously hidden or unknown. It rules sex, secrets, oil, nuclear energy and all sorts of psychological issues, and a full moon square will bring these issues to the surface and often creates power struggles.

The planets have been in some complex patterns for a while now, and I hate to say nothing will be simple or serene about this moon in most cases. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and rules the individual and the ego. There will likely be many confrontations of an egotistical nature, and it is important to remember to not react from a place of pure ego.

Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct (together) in Pisces at 28 degrees. Whatever Jupiter touches, it expands. The last time we had this configuration in late spring we saw massive flooding in Nashville, TN and other areas. Pisces rules the 12th house of secrets, hospitals, institutions, drugs, and of course water and it can rule the seamy side of life. On the positive end, a transit like this can represent great creative and spiritual inspiration for some, depending upon your bent. It does not go unnoticed at this time that Pakistan faces a grave humanitarian crisis due to massive flooding in spite of the lack of media coverage of the situation and international support to that country. It is a shame the world has not responded to Pakistan in their hour of need. Most of the individuals in that country are not Taliban members, but merely human beings whose lives are being washed away with the flood waters. Pisces can also relate to infectious disease and it not impossible that the crisis in that country will be further complicated over the next number of days with the spread of diseases due to lack of sanitation. Or, there could be incidents of disease in other areas.

Full moon energy can begin as much as 5-7 days before the full moon occurs and for the same length of time after. This full moon is further complicated by the fact we have some difficult transits in the preceding days.

On Saturday, September 25/26, the Sun squares Pluto. This is a transit fraught with power struggles, and when Pluto is involved anything not working may collapse totally at this time, whether it be machinery or personal situations. It is a transit of ultimate change, and there is a great deal of seething anger in the world that may become ignited. This is a transit that could trigger the Mars (war) energy of this full moon.

Thursday, September 30, the Sun conjuncts Saturn at 6 degrees of Libra. This is a depressing, tiring transit. There may be events relating to the Democratic-Republican parties and it squares the financial planets in the US creating the possibility of negative financial news.

Friday, October 1, Mercury opposes Jupiter. This can be a transit of optimism or over-optimism or over-promising. Situations may be blown out of proportion, but taking that into account it can be used constructively.

Sunday, October, 2 Mercury opposes Uranus This is a high energy mental transit, and ideas may flow. If that is the case write them down, as they will leave quickly and you may forget. It is conducive to accidents of all kind/weather related accidents, and could involve aircraft. We will likely hear news that is unexpected. Mental states may change quickly turning into anxiety or upset. Use the utmost caution if you are driving a vehicle.

Those most affected by this full moon will be the Cardinal Signs-Aries, Libra, Capricorn and Cancer, especially if you are born within the first 5 days (5 degrees) of your sign.

Mercury Retrograde-Not Over Yet!

Mercury, the planet of speech, communication, transportation and the mind is currently retrograde at 6 degrees of Virgo. Its retrogrades to 5 degrees on Saturday, September 11 before stationing (standing still) at that degree, and it does not start the process of moving forward again until September 16 when it moves back to 6 degrees. This is called the stationing period of a retrograde Mercury, and it is often, if not always the most likely time for the retrograde to play out it's mischief in your personal chart. So, it is during the stationing period, which lasts before and after the Winged God goes direct on Sunday, September 12 that you will see the final effects of this retrograde Mercury in Virgo play out in your life.

Virgo is the natural ruler of the sixth house of health and work and these issues will play out on the world stage. Health issues can be diagnosed and it is a great time to start a health regime or visit a Dr. Virgo is an Earth Sign and can relate to issues pertaining to Planet Earth that will draw attention during this time, as well. Virgo has an analytical ability and we may be drawn into personal drama that requires this ability. We must remember to not over analyze a situation or pick it to death, but rather use our abilities wisely and remember the planet of communication will not be on a full steam ahead direct course until the latter part of the month. Mis-communication and broken machinery will be common.

Retrograde Mercury deals with the past and this often brings us in contact with people from our past. Planet Earth Hangs in the Balance (And So Do Relationships)-Episode 2

As we start the month out with Hurricane Earl on the eastern Seaboard of the US, bearing down on North Carolina, and another oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, Mother Earth is telling us she did not get our attention with the BP Oil Spill. Once again, man made incidents as well as potential weather disasters are reminding us of our need to place Planet earth itself, as a high priority in our lives as nations and individuals in whatever ways we can. Unlike us, Mother Earth does not have such a short memory. The Sun conjuncts Mercury September 3 and 4, creating the energy for travel and weather related accidents and incidents. As Pluto transits through Capricorn over the next decade we will continue to face earth related situations. As a civilization we are at a precipice and will take care of the Earth and the waters that comprise most of the planet or face the consequences, and they will be dire.

Astrologically, September will bring transits that create further wake up calls on more than one front. There are powerful forces at work in the world that take place in several forms as a result of the recent Saturn-Pluto square that is now separating, but not gone. The energy of this major configuration will last for months to come, and we will be tested in the immediate future and both in the world and our personal lives. Saturn, Uranus and Pluto will come together again in May 2011 and continue throughout 2011 in varying degrees.

The stakes are high for the world, and thus far have involved issues concerning pollution of the oceans and massive death of wildlife and lack of clarity as to the extent of the damage done by BP Oil Company. Other spills involving less publicity have occurred as well, and we face Earth related catastrophes now with the hurricane season upon us.

There is growing desire among American’s to cut missions in the Middle East. Afghanistan has proven to be a difficult situation and leadership in that country has been proven corrupt. Massive leaks of the Afghanistan war dairies have been revealed and the head of the website releasing the leaks was threatened in child abuse scandals, which were mysteriously dropped with little fanfare. Of course I am speaking of the founder of Wiki leaks a website that acts as conduit where corruption can be revealed among governments, companies and entities on the internet. True information as to the dire situation in Afghanistan is available to anyone who can use a computer.

American aid in the Middle East hangs in the balance as well. Attempts at peace in the Middle East have come alive with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but this is another of many attempts that have been made. The terrorist group Hamas has promised attacks on Israel. The Middle East is a powder keg. Saturn-Pluto transits historically represent war, threats of war, unrest, upheaval and nuclear incidents .Additionally, threats of terrorism around the world by militant groups are numerous at this time.

Forces are at work between the legal, political, environmental, banking and financial entities the average person has no control over, other than making his/her voice heard through letters and phone calls.

The dollar continues to be at risk at home and abroad. The spring turnaround of the US economy is proving to be a house of smoke and mirrors and jobs have not been created and unemployment is still high and jobs are scarce. The world is in an economic chaos across the globe. Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain among other European countries are in crisis and have received bailouts.

Banks in the US have been given taxpayer bailouts’ and are laden with toxic assets in foreclosed real estate. While taxpayer money helped them out of the crisis they faced a year ago, credit is difficult to come by for many.

Power struggles continue to abound in almost every area of life. Corporations are still downsizing. Foreclosures are on every corner. Those house rich and cash poor Americans are often no longer homeowners. American’s and the world have paid a large price in the economic downturn.

The Democrats and Republicans in the US are in complete opposition to each other and the Tea Party has come into existence. Hate radio has never seen bigger audiences. Discontent is growing with President Obama’s leadership among Democrats and the newness of the administration has worn off and the problems that became apparent under former US President Bush have not been solved in 2 years.

Consumer debt and government debt has reached an all time high, and the government bailouts will have to be paid back.

To anyone who does not believe the much written about T-Square of July-August did not change our world, I say look at the facts.

During September, Saturn, the planet of reality, hardships and limitations is squaring the Jupiter and Venus (the 2 financial planets) of the US at 3 and 5 degrees of Cancer. Further issues will make themselves known the week of of September 8, as Jupiter crosses the planet that rules money and finance, the law, education and religion, creating hardships and limitations in those areas and concern with issues abroad are on the front burner. It is an aspect of limitation, privation, lawsuits and being limited and tested as a nation. The good news is the pressure will ease somewhat as Saturn separates from Jupiter starting on the 16 of September. But Saturn will again bring frustrations and limitations as it squares the Sun of the USA at 13 degrees mid-November. While Saturn will not be in contact with Jupiter (the main money planet) it will be squaring the Sun of the US which represents the nation as a collective bringing continued limitations and frustration. But as Jupiter returns to Pisces on September 10, it trines Pluto and eventually the USA’s Neptune in Virgo mid-November bringing some hope of job improvement. Any planetary help is good help. But, Pluto, the planet of ultimate change is in opposition to America’s Venus through November 0f 2010. In 2011 it opposes Jupiter creating further conflict and reform in finance.

The apparent upswing in the US economy this spring, (and I say apparent, as actual numbers not totally clear), was due to Uranus and Jupiter entering Aires together. Uranus/Jupiter in Aries is exuberant and Jupiter expands whatever it touches. The combination of the two planets is often reflective of money-expansion. Jupiter returns to Aries January 23, 2011 and Uranus enters Aries for 7 years March 13. But, the two will not meet up as closely as they did this year.

When Will The Economy Improve?

Jupiter enters Taurus on May 12, 2011, the planet ruled by Venus and the natural ruler of the second house of money. Jupiter increases what it touches and it will trine (a positive angle) the Venus and Jupiter of the US. (The money planets.) It is bound to result in more prosperity, but is only part of the picture in a complex world of transits that involve the US and the world for many years to come.

On a More Personal Level

On another important front, relationships, have suffered, changed, ended or started. Saturn is in the sign ruling relationships for the next two years and we will see many challenges to this intrigel part of life during these times.

When Saturn entered Libra late July/early August, early born Aries, Capricorns, Libras and Cancers suffered through traumas, breakups, separations and trials as well as other obstacles. But, relationships that are committed to sound principals did not necessarily end. Now, those born in Cardinal signs in the 5-15 degree range of their sun sign may well see challenges as well. Those in relationships most likely to end will be the ones that are troubled, vague and undefined.

As Saturn moves through Libra into 2012, Libras especially, will face challenges and the potential of great reward through hard work as Saturn leaves Libra in fall of 2012.

It will be a challenging time for those who make up the sign that rules relationships, as well as those with Libra ascendants.No matter what age you are Saturn transiting through the first house coincides with new beginnings and new starts in life. For the very young it may signify a time of embarking upon education or leaving a home. For those who are older it will mean major life change including the potential of new directions with new partners. Those most challenged by this transit of Saturn over the next 2 years will be Libra, Aires, Cancer and Capricorn.

Libras will form the solid foundation for a new life, but not without great exertion of energy. Nothing will come without hard work and planning, but the results in the end can prove worthwhile. Saturn calls for you to ‘do the work,’ in whatever endeavor you face. Aries will face relationship issues and challenges if Saturn is creating a hard angel to any personal planets. Cancers will build a new foundation/home and will be challenged by circumstances involving the home and the foundation as well as family issues. As Mercury continues to retrograde in Virgo through the 12th we face challenges in the areas of health and work with previously unknown issues coming to the forefront. Breakups can occur- people from the past may return- retrograde Mercury is a wildcard, and known to reveal information. It is not a time to start new projects and confusion abounds in communication. Mercury goes direct at 5 degrees of Virgo on September 12, and this is often a critical juncture when decisions are made and further information revealed. Mercury will remain stationary retrograde until September 18 and will situations will not return to normal speed until about the third week of September.

We have a New Moon at 15 degrees of Virgo on Tuesday, September 8. Virgo rules health and work and we will be dealing with these issues individually and collectively at this time. Mercury retrograde in Virgo creates the possibility of becoming involved in arguments, debates and we may hear news of weather related situations, travel issues and issues with work, jobs, health issues and healthcare. Virgo also relates to the earth, itself and we will face issues concerning the planet and it will be a call to nature. People around you may become obsessive, picky and critical for a few hours or day. Venus trining Neptune may inspire creativity, news of the arts, artistic or spiritual inspiration and will help ease the intensity of the new moon together with retrograde Mercury in Virgo. There is no better time of the year than around September 12 to deal with health issues or start a new health/exercise regime and get into shape for the fall!

Other Dates to watch in September

On September 9, Jupiter re-enters Pisces, retrograde. Jupiter when retrograde does not increase situations as quickly as it does while direct. I have seen Jupiter show gain whether retrograde or direct, but retrograde planets are a wildcard, and Jupiter may not live up to its promises. It can magnify situations and actually show lack at times. Jupiter goes direct at 23 degrees of Pisces on November 17.

New Love

Venus enters Scorpio September 9 switching up love energy making our emotions more intense. If you are a Scorpio you should feel at your best this month. Mars enters Scorpio on September 15, changing our day to day energy and making events more intense. Mars changes signs roughly every 40 days and our week to week focus changes as Mars enters a different house in your chart. Mars and Venus are together in Scorpio from September 15-October 28. When Mars and Venus are together in your sign the chances of meeting someone special increases significantly. This combination is very potent for all Water and Earth Signs, but especially Cancer as the planets of love dance through their fifth house of love affairs (and children).

On September 18, Jupiter conjuncts Uranus for the next several weeks. Jupiter expands whatever it touches and Pisces rules water, gasses and oil. The last time this occurred earlier this year we saw massive flooding in Nashville, TN, and we were dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf.

The Autumn Equinox occurs September 22, marking the change from summer to fall seasons. On September 24 the Sun enters Libra, the official astrological change of season. Also on the 22-23, the Sun opposes Uranus. This transit is known to create sudden unexpected events and situations, and is explosive in nature. Separations may occur on this day. Expect the unexpected, and Uranus rules electricity aircraft and water as well as rebellions.

On September 23 we have a full moon at 0 degrees of Aries. The 0 degree of Aries is known as the world point, and can indicate issues that affect the world as a whole. This full moon is volatile, rash and impulsive, and comes on the heels of Sun-Uranus (see above). It is more than likely we will see unexpected, explosive events around the world. Count to three before making decisions and remember the energy is disruptive, and caution is called for in all areas. The financial markets in the US may be volatile. It is time for change!

On September 25-27 the Sun squares Pluto. Pluto rules nuclear energy among other things. This transit will provoke power struggles and anger both personally and on the world stage. We are at risk of an ‘incident’ occurring and personally it is time to step back and take a deep breath if you find yourself in the middle of a power struggle. Pluto rules the darker side of life and issues concerning sex. Laws will come into focus as well.

On September 30-October 1, the Sun conjuncts Saturn at 6-7 degrees of Libra. Sun-Saturn transits are heavy, depressing, restrictive and oppressive. They indicate disharmony and the potential for negative situations. Libra rules laws, partners and partnerships, religion, education, and foreign people as well as situations abroad. It I likely we will see events related to the above and it is not favorable for the US economy. It is favorable for constructive accomplishment and taking care of responsibilities.

Applications for unemployment made a huge jump this week, sending financial markets and those who believed things were improving into a tailspin. But, that came as no surprise to those who read my posts and follow astrology, as Jupiter opposes Saturn this week, setting the stage for negative financial news. Furthermore, Mercury, the planet of communication officially retrogrades today in the sign Virgo, ruling jobs, job news, health, healthcare and matters connected to the earth. When Mercury retrogrades previously unknown issues come to the forefront, both on the world stage and in our personal lives.

Scientists are now reporting existence of a 22 mile underwater plume somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico that is deadly to sea life. BP has been putting distance between themselves and the Gulf disaster for weeks now. It is questionable if they will live up to their promises to make the Gulf area whole again. I believe not only is it questionable, it is absolute they will do as little as possible to avoid spending more money on the ‘little people,’ whose lives have been wiped out as a result of the largest marine disaster American’s have known. It has been reported for some time, BP has been ‘buying up,’ scientists who study and work with oil related disasters and forcing them to sign contracts agreeing to NOT reveal their findings to the public. The Gulf disaster had not gone away and we will be dealing with the ramifications for generations.

Another question that has arisen is the safety of the dispersants used in getting rid of the oil in the Gulf. I have seen reports that claim the chemical toxicants BP used are dangerous to sea life and to humans, and that the chemicals have found their way into the food chain. Last night I picked up a frozen package of shrimp at the grocery store. The first thing I noticed was the price that was probably up 30%. The package was almost half the size it used to be. Two strikes. Then I noticed the packaging- “Gulf Shrimp.” I had to think a few minutes. Buying it would help the fisherman, I like shrimp, and what the heck. Then I thought about the chemical dispersants and the reports from credible agencies about our food chain being altered. I put it back in the freezer. I would like to buy American products and help the Gulf and the fishermen. The Government says the food is safe. The Government also backed BP when they said the well was only pumping out 5,000 gallons of toxic oil a day into our oceans. BP is buying up scientists and ‘judge shopping,’ for future trials that will involve criminal offenses. Enough Said.

We have made it through the cosmic square, or the T-Square that we astrologers have been writing about for some time now. Officially—Uranus has moved back into Pisces for 7 more months, changing the energy again, and giving us one last chance to understand the lessons of Uranus in the sign that rules the twelfth house of the zodiac. The twelfth house is the unknown, secrets and matters that are hidden from view, and the unconscious. Pisces is the ruler of spirituality, creativity, psychic abilities, drugs and alcohol, the seamy side of life, prostitutes and preachers. It is a complex planet, and it rules water—The oceans are being polluted, and a large part of Pakistan is flooded and headed for a major humanitarian crisis. China is still under mudslides even though you have to look for the news about that situation. If the US can’t clean up a major oil spill, does anyone believe China can? And where is the news of that situation? It is all about water and as Pisces ends its 15 year cycle in this sign it will bring further issues involving water to the forefront. It will take some time to completely assimilate the changes that have occurred under this major astrological configuration. Many well known astrologers called for global disasters during this time that would affect the earth. We have seen the Gulf oil spill, the China Oil spill, The Michigan oil spill, flooding of Pakistan, Mudslilides in China, fires in Russia and the decimation of Haiti. Next spring the same square between Saturn, Pluto and Uranus will return. It is not being written about the planets are not as close to each other as the last one was. It is a mistake to ignore however, as the planets do not have to be exact with each other for major events to occur.

But, Saturn and Pluto are still squaring each other, and the energy of this square will continue into next month. Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn deals with issues connected to the earth, business, partnerships among people and entities, the government and banking. It is harsh energy and has the potential to spark nuclear incidents, power struggles and military incidents. It also deals with issues connected to crime and to sex. It affects our personal lives as well and issues in relationships, especially sexual ones. If your relationship has been limping along this energy may force it over the edge or bring issues out into the open that may have been there for some time.

The last full moon of the summer is at 1 degree of Pisces on August 24. It is conjunct Uranus (in a parallel) bringing up situations-is sees that are unexpected. We will likely see water related situations, and events that will deal with women. On the positive end this could be an exciting time, when you may try something new, or approach situations in a new and exciting way. Happy End of Summer!

If I had to sum up the astrological transits this week in one word, it might be frustrating. Jupiter, the planet of expansion opposes Saturn, the planet of contraction. The end result is a push-pull type of energy that may prove frustrating on both an individual and world level. It will be hard to expand your affairs this week, and if things can be maintained at a normal level count yourself lucky. Astrologer Mitch Lewis writes, “Because it {Saturn-Jupiter} is part of the Great T-Square we have been discussing I don’t think you can separate this and view it only as the energy it possesses. The cumulative results of this period will be looked upon as a time of frustration and limitations; a redefining of values and a more realistic (Saturn) view of that the world really is. This opposition first completed on May 23rd 2010, in the mutable signs of Pisces and Virgo. Now it is completing at zero degrees cardinal in Aries and Libra. It will complete on more time in these cardinal signs in late March 2011, and that is when we will see the final results of this aspect. The key to working with these two diametrically opposes forces is to move slowly and steadily towards your goals. If you attempt to rush things or don’t create enough support your projects will not come to fruition.” The transit is not favorable for the financial markets or positive news about money or finance.

On Friday/Saturday, August 20-21 the Sun opposes Neptune. This is a tiring transit and some people may not even feel like getting out of bed. It can create a lot of insecurity and confusion. It may generate a feeling of listlessness or giving up and exhaustion, as well as a feeling that it is futile to go on. It represents the possibility of mis-communication or lies and deception. On the positive end it can create the energy for big things on a creative/psychic level, or it could represent an intuitive moment or a ‘religious experience.’ It is best used in helping those less fortunate than yourself. Neptune always calls for sacrifice. The transit also represents oil and water and we will likely see a continuation of disruptive weather events, or more news about the three oil spills occurring in the world at this time.-the Gulf, China and Michigan. One fifth of Pakistan is under water as this is written, and China is consumed in mudslides. Thousands have died and while there is not an overabundance of news on major US networks, these situations represent major catastrophic world/earth events.

Also on Friday, the planet of communication retrogrades and becomes ‘the planet of mis-communication.’ Mercury usually retrogrades three times a year and this time it is in the sign of Virgo at 19 degrees. Virgo is the natural ruler of the sixth house of health and work and it is in these areas we will face issues. It is best not to purchase major items, sign contracts or start new jobs during the next three weeks, but life being what it is sometimes we have no choice. I have tested this theory many times over and always end up the loser, Except once. I was purchasing a house and the owner’s discovered they had to sell a larger parcel of land with the house in that community, and I was able to get a bigger lot at a lower price. I always tell clients, with retrograde Mercury you can be a winner or a loser, depending upon the chart. Case in point: OJ Simpson. He was acquitted of the murder of his wife, Nichole, during a retrograde on October 3, 1995, with Mercury retrograde at 13 degrees of Libra. Jurors were later questioned, and most of them regretted the decision. He wasn’t so lucky however, exactly 13 years to the day later on October 3, 2008, when he was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas. Mercury was retrograde that day at 18 degrees of Libra. Oh, well, karma is hell to pay, and he is still in prison.

So, if you can avoid major purchases, new jobs, and signing contracts it is best. Projects get slowed down, communication becomes more difficult and machines break—as do relationships, but usually only the ones that are at the breaking point anyway. Often new information regarding various situations in our lives is uncovered during retrograde Mercury.

What retrograde Mercury is actually good for is reflection, re-doing and re-thinking. Sometimes you can catch up with people from the past, and reconnect. This is the highest and best use of the energy, unless you are in a position to take time off, visit a retreat and truly reflect on the past. It is a time for planning, not taking action. And when you do take action it will probably change.

Mercury is currently stationary retrograde at 18 degrees of Virgo Tuesday, August 17. Author/astrologer Carol Rushman writes, “When Mercury stations in the sixth house or Virgo, the mental energy expresses itself in an analytical way. The mind is organized. Opinions are reached after much consternation and thought. The need for perfection, however, may delay decision making. During this stationing period, people will be exceptional picky and critical. They can be critical of others’, but are usually hardest on themselves.”

Mercury will be stationary retrograde on September 11-15. It goes direct at 5 degrees of Virgo on September 12.

The weekend will get more interesting as Venus and Mars line up together at 13, 14 and 15 degrees of Libra on August 21,22 and 23. If this three degree range connects with a personal planet in your chart it will represent a somewhat significant event in your love life or your social life. It doesn’t have to be the love of your life, but it shold count for something! It is a good time for entertaining, and many will feel the spark of attraction. If it is connecting well in your chart, you could meet someone new. That said, Mars and Venus together create a certain amount of tension and sparks could fly either way. Venus is at home transiting the sign ruling relationships.

On Saturday, August 21, the Saturn-Pluto square that has been occurring all summer starts to separate. Astrologer Mitch Lewis writes, “There are more major wars begun while these two are in conflict in the sky. In 1914-15 Saturn was conjunct Pluto in Cancer as the First World War began. In 1939-40 Saturn in Taurus was in square to Pluto in Leo, to herald in the Second World War. In 1942 Saturn conjunct Uranus, first in Taurus, then in Gemini, guaranteeing a continued instability and explosiveness for years. In 1945 Saturn in Cancer squared Neptune in Libra causing a great deal of confusion and misrepresentation. The Battle of the Bulge was basically a Neptunian venture. There was little behind the German’s bravado, yet they almost succeeded in tricking us into an armistice, rather than a complete surrender. The point is that when Saturn is afflicted by the outer planets there are usually world events. It’s been getting trounced lately. This is what leads many of us in this business to expect serious world events. But they rarely come exactly on the aspect.”

Well, so the world didn’t end last month. I know how deeply disappointed some of you are. But don’t worry; we have more harsh aspect coming, including the powerful Pluto square Uranus in about a year. That might do it.

Seriously, the job of a financial and political astrologer is to examine the aspects and advise on the potential outcome. Several other prominent astrologers made similar predictions for August based on these transits. And there have been some very intense situations these past few weeks, including the Wiki-leaks papers, floods in Pakistan, oil spills all over the world, massive fires in Russia, etc. There was no stock market crash. Yet. But I still believe these markets are manipulated and nothing more than a playground for those with enough capital to gamble. It is going down, down, down, and even if my timing is off a bit the overall view will prove correct.

I have been invited to return in October as we approach the mid-term elections. Mr. Colmes was a very gracious and sympathetic host. He asked me about a recent newsletter in which I said: “For those of you who have been worrying about the coming apocalypse, you can stop worrying, it’s here…” I was referring to the Gulf oil spill, but I did not mean it in the literal context that the Book of Revelations speaks of. I don’t believe that the apocalypse will happen on a specific date, not do I believe that the fire and brimstone and world wide nuclear holocaust so many tout will occur. There may be several “nuclear incidences”, followed by a major shift to the right. But that will be followed by a change once again and a swing back to the center, where most Americans are comfortable. We are, after all, entering the Age of Aquarius, and anyone who thinks we can cook that omelet without breaking a few eggs should talk to the residents of ancient Rome about the year 410. But remember, while Rome was being sacked, Constantinople was booming. Brazil, anyone?

The fact that they seem to have cleaned up the gulf (miraculously the oil has disappeared – poof!) is perhaps the worst thing that could have happened. Of course as my readers know I was devastated at the loss of wildlife and pristine nature. I’m not wishing that the spill were worse, or that it happened at all. But I have learned a thing of two about humanity in my 30 years of studies and find that once we believe there is a solution to a problem we cease to pay attention to that problem any longer, often resulting in a worse catastrophe down the line. Now we are being sold a bill of goods that technology, our modern god, will solve all the oil spills in the world, so drill baby drill! The Gulf spill is now on page 16 of the few remaining newspapers that matter, right next to the China spill and the Michigan one that is now threatening the Great Lakes. Nobody talks about that one. Do you even know it exists? That’s what scares me. Complacency is the enemy of real solutions. And we are a most complacent people.

The apocalypse is the rapid deterioration of our environment and food supply. Not the Terminator.

Despite the economic environment, corporations are showing huge profits, mostly by firing workers and thus lowering costs. Worker productivity has increased over the past year but none of the gains are finding their way into the pockets of those workers, it has all gone into corporate profits to be divided between management and stock holders. Unemployment is expected to rise, not fall over the next year. Our society is being split as never before between the rich and everyone else. As we inch ever closer to the precipice you would wonder how the hell could the middle class in any state ever vote for a Republican. Yet they may do just that in November. We are a nervous, impatient people with a history of unimpeded growth and expansion. Anything that delays that growth bothers America’s Sagittarius ascendant. But America is not growing anymore, at least not now. We have entered what will be at least a decade of stifled expansion and frustrating situations. If the Republicans regain enough seats in either house to paralyze our government, one of the first things they will do is end unemployment benefits to the millions of the new poor. How far are we from tent cities or housing complexes built to hide our growing homelessness?

Thanks to this dangerous Supreme Court, corporations will decide the governments of the future. In its psychotic 5 to 4 split the court has opened the door for unlimited spending by corporations in elections. They will buy and sell senate seats, governorships and of course, the venerable Oval office. They will dictate policy and direct the flow of capital virtually unrestricted, unless this country wakes up and smells the damn coffee. The check and balances put into place by our founding fathers will be meaningless if we allow money to be the only criteria by which we select our leaders. And that is exactly what this decision will do. I have long thought that The Supreme Court has way too much power, and should not be a lifetime appointment. It was done so originally to prevent tampering by a ruling party. But instead we now have a split philosophical agenda as the court appointees continue to represent the party that put them there, while the nation’s sentiments have moved on. And, inevitably, this court will join forces with corporate America to move our nation to the right.

Mr. Obama was elected with the Saturn – Uranus opposition exact on Election Day. He was inaugurated on a Void Of Course Moon. So far he has done some amazing things, as one would hope during a Saturn – Uranus opposition. L.B.J. also ruled during this powerful transit, and he redistributed the wealth, one of the desired results of this opposition, as much as was possible. Health care reform and financial reform are things of great magnitude. If allowed to become the law of the land, in time, they will be seen in their proper historic light. Many of those who are currently scared by these acts will understand their necessity and accept their role through the coming years. But because this administration began on the Void of Course Moon, many things could take an unexpected twist. These changes will be fought by the Republicans for a long time. And if either issue makes it to this right wing Supreme Court, you can pretty much assume the outcome. And if it, in fact, does go that route then there is the terrible possibility that all of this wonderful work will come to naught. That is a real possibility when something is begun on a Void Of Course Moon. Let’s pray that isn’t the case.

NEW MOON:

The New Moon falls on Monday August 9th at 11:08 P.M. EST at 17 degrees Leo 25 minutes. This is the time of year for a romantic get-away. I always say that July is the time to spend with the family, and August is when you leave them with a sitter and run naked on the beach. (You may want to check the local ordinance first.) Lie around like the lazy lion and refresh yourself. Once we enter Virgo we will all be fussing over details and working very hard. There is a time for all things and this is the time to play.

This fixed fire sign rules the 5th house of romance, children, games and gambling. If you think about it, they are all akin. Do we not become children when we fall in love; play games and gamble with our most precious commodities – security, balance and self-image? And, of course, romance, will often lead to children. It isn’t the 7th house of marriage, but the 5th house of romantic encounters that beget the next generation. Understanding what the various houses mean, and recognizing how all of the things incorporated within that house are connected, is one of the most important parts of astrology.

VENUS SQUARES PLUTO:

On Tuesday August 10th at 12:04 A.M. EST there will be a desire to get to the bottom of your most personal relationships, especially if this sets off your chart. Anything hidden may very well come out, and if you aren’t ready for the truth you may be better off letting sleeping dogs lie.

URANUS ENTERS PISCES:

On Friday August 13th at 11:31 P.M. EST this most erratic planets retrogrades back into Pisces. There may be a pull-back in some of the technological advancements of the past year. Confusion or complications could abound, but it would only be a temporary respite in our race to the future. Pisces rules many things, including our faith. It is about to enter Aries where it will reside for the next seven year. This retrograde back into Pisces is giving us one more chance to learn what the past 7 years has been about. Has our faith changed? If so, in what ways, and is it for the better or not? When Uranus does go back into Aries the technical revolution will move at an even faster pace. We are about to lose what little humanity has not been gobbled (googled) up by the internet. Take a moment to look around you. So many things you have grown used to seeing will no longer be there soon.

JUPITER OPPOSES SATURN:

THE SUN OPPOSES NEPTUNE:

As if we don’t have enough problems dealing with the Saturn energy, today requires a great deal of work to stay focused and on top of things. Saturn in opposition to Jupiter and in square to Pluto demands that we do pay attention. So use extra caution today and try to clarify everything. This opposition can easily result in misunderstandings and misdirection. It’s usually a very bad aspect for the stock markets. But then, so are all of the major aspects this month. Any new relationship that begins today should be taken with a pillar of salt. Give it time to prove its worthiness.

VENUS CONJUNCTS MARS:

Also on Friday August 20th at 2:49 P.M. EST the sexes will certainly be attracted to each other. With both Mars and Venus traveling through Libra, it is the Venus energy that is more at home and will be more assertive. Mars doesn’t do all that well her and feel out of sorts. But Venus shines while transiting the sign that rules relationships. To use astrology correctly you should never fight against the stream. This is a month for the female side of things to take over. Let it.

MERCURY RETROGRADES:

Also on Friday August 20th at 3:59 P.M. EST we begin this thrice a year joy. To be fair, there are certain things that actually work out better while the winged god is moon-walking in the sky. If you have had a hard time getting in touch with someone, you may be able to track them down now. You will find that the world is slowing down and there may be time to read something or study a subject that you have been too busy to focus on. Conversations tend to be very honest and direct, and the truth has a way of jumping off your tongue, so keep your ears open and your mouth shut and you may learn some important things. As always, use caution while traveling and leave plenty of extra time. Try not to purchase a car, boat, plane, spaceship or other devise associated with travel. Also communication device, such as cell phones, TVs, computers, or two Dixie cups with a thread attached will give you trouble if you buy it now. Unfortunately, this is also when many things could breakdown and you may be forced to get a new one. You can exchange it after Mercury turns around again.

Because this retrograde is in Virgo, one of the signs this planet rules (so far), we can expect some serious difficulties in communications, especially issues involving health or physical maintenance. And with the Full Moon in Pisces this month, any medical situation that has been ignored may come to the surface now.

THE SUN ENTERS VIRGO:

On Monday August 23rd at 1:27 A.M. EST we enter the mutable part of summer, when the weather starts to change and the air just feels different. Each season has a cardinal, fixed and mutable month so we can see each in its three stages of development. If you can study the season carefully you will understand the concept of the three quadruplicates; cardinal, fixed and mutable, and perhaps better understand your own life and how it fits into the collective. We are all made up of the three types of energy, even without planets in those signs. There are house cusps and natural rulership that adds to the complexity of our personalities. This is the hardest part for many as we are preparing to say goodbye to the summer. The mutable signs seem to have a easier time saying goodbye, sometimes too easy a time. We must all learn to be cardinal (initiators), fixed (builders) and mutable (able to let go), when the time is appropriate. In this way you become the fullest most complete person you can be. So for now, look around you at the changing season and how it affects you and others, and learn its lessons.

FULL MOON:

This month’s lunar peak occurs on Tuesday August 24th at 1:05 P.M. EST at 1 degree Pisces 26 minutes. We have returned to the point in our cycle where the Full Moons are completing in the early degrees of each sign. This implies that there is more of a chance for initiation on these lunar peaks, and not just a waning energy. Pisces is interested in service to others, although not all those born under this last sign are particularly happy about it. From now until the next New Moon it would behoove us all to seek ways in which we can help others. If only our species could understand the concept of circulation; what you give out comes back, many times over.

I would use caution with alcohol and all drugs (legal or illegal makes no difference in astrology, only in court), for the few days surrounding this aspect. Not only does Pisces rule these things, but the Moon will conjunct Neptune, ruler of Pisces, on the dark of the moon, shortly before the Moon conjuncts the Sun. Illusions of all sorts may be presented to you, so make sure you have a reality check. This can be a very spiritual and enlightening moment if you can take it for what it is – a play staged in fog and mirrors. Very deep understanding is possible, if you can take a leap of faith and open yourself to new information.

THE SUN TRINES PLUTO:

On Thursday August 26th at 1:11 A.M. EST we will have these two powers working in tandem. If you can use the Sun and Pluto together successfully you can transform almost anything. It’s a great aspect in a natal chart, which allows the individual the chance to recreate themselves throughout their lives. It means new beginnings and deep rooted transformative changes, but done in a flowing and proactive manner, not disruptive or destructive like the opposition or square. Of course here it is only a passing moment, but try to make the most of it. Issues that involve joint ownership or group activities should do quite well.

THE SUN CONJUNCTS MERCURY:

On Friday September 3rd at 8:35 A.M. EST people will be willful and assertive. There will be great force behind all communications, which could easily lead to disputes and loud verbal exchanges. Anything that needs to be said will be, and this is a good time to clear the air. Just be careful how you say it. There could be some difficulties in travel, and this completes during rush hour, on Friday of the Labor Day weekend, so try to bypass it. Listen to news radio for the traffic reports.

VENUS TRINES NEPTUNE:

On Saturday September 4th at 1:13 P.M. EST this rather pleasant transit completes. This is a very creative and romantic trine, combining the lower and higher levels of the love connection. Venus rules personal love. Neptune rules universal love. The combination can produce great moments of passion and deep understanding. Watch how much you eat and drink. It is very easy to enjoy this aspect a little too much.

DARK OF THE MOON:

The next New Moon falls on Wednesday September 8th at 6:30 A.M. EST at 15 degrees Virgo 41 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the cycles of the moon more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, don’t try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just won’t work out. Saturn Enters Libra-Changes In Partnerships and Marriage

It is opposing Uranus and square Pluto and Jupiter in a configuration that will bring change to the world in all of the areas ruled by the three planets. Within days of Saturn entering Libra, California’s Proposition 8 banning gay marriage was overturned.

The Courts have handed down a decision that gay marriage is now legal in California, negating the ban that had been in place. The decision was handed down as the T-Square involving Saturn, Uranus and Pluto were/are in a configuration astrologers have been watching for years. Furthermore, the decision was made as Mars squared Pluto a transit that often relates to issues regarding sex in one way or another.

The US is a Cancer Country and as Saturn transits through the fourth house, changes will occur to the very foundation of America. The changes and challenges will test partnerships of all types and question the topic of gay marriage an issue that will generate great divides among the country. Dear Mr. President:

In looking over your chart, I can see the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto (and Jupiter) grand square is dead on Venus in your chart at 1 degree of Cancer. What an intense time you must be living!

There is no doubt this configuration is bringing changes in the areas that Venus rules-money and financial matters, women, children and friends. It must be creating quite a strain upon your own family. Venus is being squared by Saturn, a transit that often brings marked changes and separations and it is not a time of great popularity or success. For some time now, I can see your values have been changing due to Pluto opposing Venus, which relates to finance and values. You are being forced to define what it is you actually value the most, and it is not an easy transit. You have faced great opposition in everything you have proposed, perhaps even being misunderstood in some cases. Many unexpected situations have occurred, due to Uranus squaring Venus, and this pattern will continue much of August. It is not until later in the year you will start to absorb exactly what your shift in values has been as Pluto will start to move away from your Venus. Congress is at odds, and the two parties are not cooperating. Let’s not forget Wikileaks has posted the ‘official’ record of what has been happening in Afghanistan for the world to see, and yes, it is shocking. Yes, Mr. President you have your hands full and these are just a few of the things I can read about! By the way, most (many) astrologers believe the country mirrors the President’s chart, so it looks like we all have our hands full.

Not to spoil the party, but I’m quite sure there will be more surprising and disturbing incidents that occur over the next number of days. You are lucky that 3 of these 4 planets (Saturn-Uranus-Mars actually trine your Jupiter in Aquarius giving you some planetary help through this situation. But, this period of time will make a major impact on your life and decisions, no doubt.

Due to time constraints I am only mentioning the major transits you have to contend with, and the next one is Neptune opposing Uranus which becomes exact again in October. As it is retrograding, its influence is being felt even now. This transit will be in orb throughout the year. Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion, or to become more blunt, often, lies and deception. It is opposing your 7th house of partners, meaning you need to be cautious in your dealings with others’ and the information they present to you. I believe this transit has been a problem throughout your Presidency. It is hard to know exactly what is going on with this configuration, and to an extent it is like operating in the dark. Under this transit, some people go their own way in the face of all reason for ideological purposes. It is easy to be confused and mislead, and an individual with this transit usually ends up disappointed in the people they are required to deal with. There is often a confusion of goals and objectives, and a lack of cooperation in obtaining them. Difficulties crop of in relation to joint finances (the taxpayer) insurance companies and corporate business. There is generally secret opposition and there can be friendships or acquaintances with people who are actually unstable or unreliable. It is easy to become lost in the dark, given incorrect information, or lead down the wrong path. It will require all of your effort to rise above these influences and stick to your goals.

The positive news is that if you can get through the year, your chart actually improves next year. Things may improve in the fall to some extent, as Saturn in Libra sextiles your Sun this fall and next year. That gives you determination and the potential for some success in meeting goals. The Planets of Love Enter the Sign of Relationships

Mars and Venus are the day to day rulers of your love life and when they make certain aspects in your chart this can indicate meeting someone, ‘special.’ Mars entered Libra, the sign of partnerships and relationships on July 30, and Venus enters Libra on August 8.

But, don’t expect these planets to work their magic right off the bat! As a matter of fact Mars, the ‘God of War,’ may stir things up in an existing relationship, create tension or just remind you of lack in the relationship area if you aren’t currently in one. Mars has conjuncted Saturn since July 30, and continues to do so today and this is harsh energy. August 4-7 Mars squares Pluto, making us obsessive, and bringing issues out in the open. Pluto is the ruler of things secret, hidden and can relate to issues about sex as well. This transit represents harsh, combative energy as well. On August 8-9 Venus opposes Uranus. Saturn and Uranus/Jupiter are opposing each other. This happens every 40 years (Saturn-Uranus) and creates a clash between the past and the present, often bringing disruptive situations to the forefront. There is a lot of stress out there for everybody right now, but if your birthdate is listed above, or you have a personal planet being effected, then the opposition is directly on your planet, or your Sun—that’s you. Situations will be coming to a conclusion so you may be shown you need to alter things or move on with your life. Some of these events seem to come without warning. It will change. First you have to wrap your head around the situation. If you don’t have the answers don’t force them. Time will bring answers and you are under a great deal of stress. By mid-month things should be coming into focus.

Next, Pluto, the planet of ultimate change is involved creating a square to the other two planets forming what is called a T-Square. A square represents struggles. This isn’t the first time Pluto has been telling you that something has to change. You have been dealing with ‘The God of the Underworld,’ since early 2008, if you think about it. Pluto creates power struggles, and brings transformation one way or another. You can resist the change, but sometimes change is out of your hands and beyond your control. If a situation is irrevocably broken let it go. Your ambition may be stirred up. Sometimes other people see that as a threat.

Jupiter, considered the financial planet and the bringer of luck is involved as well. Jupiter rules Dr.’s, lawyers, married men, younger men, foreign people, education and assorted other people and things. Sometimes it means you are dealing with one of the types mentioned. If you are an Aries, Jupiter may bring some ‘planetary luck or help. If you are one of the other signs, it may still bring luck or it may mean you or someone else in the situation wants some freedom. The problem is that it is opposing Saturn, the planet of restriction right now, and it has a retroactive, restrictive influence this month.

Add Mars to the mix for the next few days and we have situations coming to a head. No doubt, it’s a critical time, and the time is now. Mars, the God of war is lined up directly with Saturn, creating a repressive, angry, harsh energy. It opposes Uranus and Jupiter creating explosive, unexpected events and about mid week it will square Pluto, bringing up issues, and either resolutions, or conclusions to your personal situations.

By the end of the first week of August mars will be moving out of the picture and on August 8, Venus, the planet of love and money will enter the picture in Libra and follow the same path as Mars did the week before. During this week, I would look more for situations involving relationships or finances.

The good news is that by mid-month Uranus moves back into Pisces, lessening the harsh energy and by month’s end you should have a firmer grip on your own situation and where you are going. August 2010- The Summer of Our Discontent-Oil-Immigration-Threats, Raised Voices and Broken Governments

We end the month of July with the volatile God of War (Mars) opposing Uranus/conjunct Saturn, and this explosive and repressive energy continues to stir up havoc and create unexpected situations around the world and in our personal charts through the first few days of August. Mars/Saturn transits generally refer to some type of police or military situation and we are at risk of explosive incidents popping up without warning. It is a dangerous aspect and Mars is ‘setting off,’ the T-square in the sky between Uranus, the planet of unexpected twists and turns and rebellions, Saturn, the taskmaster and Pluto, the God of the Underworld, the planet of vengeance and the harbinger of ultimate transformation. Take stock of your situation and use caution and prudence wherever you are.

We are officially living in the time astrologers have been talking and speculating about for a long time, and will be seeing events leading to change in the world around us. It will not be a smooth ride. That said, this configuration will cause the greatest stress for those who have personal planets that are being aspected, or those born in the early degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra. Meanwhile, one network news show is asking if BP critics have gone too far in their assessment of actual damage done. It is no wonder some are confused and complacent. Speaking of damaging the planet, what about the oil spill in China? Based on news reports the size of that spill exceeds or is equal to the Gulf Oil spill. The way we treat the earth will continue to come into focus.

Being asleep at the wheel however, plays right into the hands of entities-both corporate and government-who would have us not know what is really going on. Astrologically, this is symbolized by Neptune, the planet of illusion, confusion and delusion, conjunct the moon of America’s chart. It will cross the moon and move into Pisces in April of 2011, and at that time the powers to be will no longer be dealing with a sleeping public.

Jupiter, the planet of money, gain and benevolence is retrograde and square Pluto until August 9. This transit relates to changes/struggles within politics, governments, foreign people, laws, the financial world, and it is associated with power plays in promoting philosophic/religious beliefs. It creates attitudes of arrogance, impatience and neglecting the small but important details, and relates to the desire to reform others while neglecting matters of primary importance. Large enterprises can be undertaken without laying the correct groundwork for success. The government(s) will have issue with oil companies. Arizona will continue to have issues with their immigration law and the federal mandate recently handed down.

On August 9-22 Jupiter opposes Saturn-This is a transit of trouble/frustration within governments and retraction, as opposed to expansion, in the financial world and markets. Second quarter figures have been released and the economy slowed down to 2.4% growth, the weakest in a year. The Democrats and Republicans are hopelessly at odds over issues. The transit represents poor timing in business and professional affairs, financial crisis and an increase in bankruptcy and foreclosures, issues with laws and the law, a lack of balance between radical and conservative attitudes. There is confusion over ethical/moral/religious issues and issues relating to laws and obstacles are caused by overly conservative, uncompromising attitudes.

August 3rd and 4th –Mars/ Jupiter squares Pluto-This is a transit of upheaval, friction, and anger, and power struggles in political and military or police affairs. It may involve foreign people, religion, educational, medical, financial entities. Impulsive action is the norm, power struggles and the need for regeneration in situations in the world and individually. News of criminal activities, conflict over financial and corporate matters, and there may be news of sexual violence or jealousies.

Venus enters Libra, the sign of relationships and partnerships on August 6 and for the next 3 days until August 9, conjuncts Saturn and opposes Uranus. –This is a transit of swings and unexpected gains or losses in the financial markets. Venus rules money, love and values and well as women, attractiveness and beauty. Venus conjunct Saturn is will cement a situation or turn it cold and the two planets do not fit well together. Add Uranus to the mix and we have a period of instability in the financial world and issues concerning women. If you meet someone new, do not assume it will be lasting until the test of time proves it so. Venus-Uranus creates interesting but unstable relationships. Difficult and unstable relationships may end at this time.

August 9-Venus opposes Jupiter- This transit produces overextension, over optimism and creates feeling of inertia, and over indulgence. Feelings toward others will improve and become warmer.

August 10- New Moon is at 17 degrees of Leo, the natural ruler of the fifth house of children, entertainment and love affairs. Events and situations will occur on a grand scale and the theme of Leo is often drama. Venus is still within one degree of conjuncting Saturn and opposing Jupiter and Uranus, so while some fun may be in the air, relationship situations will not necessarily go smoothly. Bad situations may end altogether, even though it is a new moon, or relationships may move on to another level. Money matters are still in focus.

August 11-Venus squares Pluto-Negative financial news is possible as well as news about women, violence and sex. Produces feelings of intensity and potential jealousy in relationships.

August 15-Uranus retrogrades back into Pisces at 29 degrees for the next 7 months until March of 2011. The T-Square involving 4 planets is no longer exact, but the energy is still intense for a while and capable of producing upheaval. It will re-enter Aries on March 13, 2011 until March 9, 2019. The last time Uranus was in Aries was April 1927-March of 1935. Uranus cycles are 7 years.

August 17-22- Jupiter squares Pluto again at 2 degrees.

August 20-Mercury retrogrades at 19 degrees of Virgo. The Winged God flies backward for the next three weeks in the sign ruling work and health, causing delays, mis-communications, equipment breakdowns and problems and breakdowns of personal situations that are not working well. The most positive use of this energy is reflection on the past, and re-doing projects that need to be completed. It is not a time to move forward. Expect a focus on jobs and negative job news.

August 21-Sun opposes Neptune- Issues concerning oil and water. Can denote high creativity, inspiration, dreams, psychic events and service to others. Alternatively, it produces feelings of confusion, tiredness, and mis-communication, mis-understandings, and untruths, as well as lack of clarity. August 21-23-Venus conjuncts Mars- This transit will create a focus on money, love, values and sexual attractions. Minor conflicts between the sexes may occur and these few days contain magical energies for meeting someone special, although it may only be just a sexual attraction.

August 24-Full Moon at 1 degree of Pisces- Pisces is the natural ruler of the twelfth house of things secret and hidden. On August 8-10 Venus enters Libra/conjuncting Saturn opposing Uranus-Saturn-Venus can cement situations or bring them to an end. Venus rules love and money, and it is in these areas change will occur. The combination is harsh, if not realistic where relationships are concerned.

Full Moon in Aquarius-New World Order?

This month’s full moon is at 2 degrees of Aquarius on July 26 in the sign considered to represent collective humanity. The ruler of Aquarius is often overlooked. Uranus, the planet of unexpected events, and unusual/shocking twists and turns are the rule rather than the exception with this sign which is often present in revolutions, rebellions, wars and disasters. New governments are born out of wars, coups, and rebellions, and seldom throughout history has it been a stable process without great cost to many.

The co-ruler of Aquarius is Saturn, the taskmaster. It opposes the Sun in Leo creating the atmosphere for unexpected shifts, twists and turns of a dramatic nature.

Saturn Enters Libra-Diplomats to control their own armies?

Another oil spill is being reported in China, off China’s NE Coast. The slick, located near the oil port of Dalian, in Liaoning province was caused by the explosion of two oil pipelines and is now said to cover an area of 170 miles. China faces a tough year. Like people, countries have birth charts and the birth date of The People ’s Republic of China is October 1, 1949, 3:01PM making the Sun of that country a 7 degree Libra. Saturn-Uranus-Pluto Horoscopes

Saturn has entered Libra for a two year sojourn in that sign. It is now opposing Uranus at 180 degrees. Add to that mix a square- a 90 degree angle- from the planet Pluto, the “God of the Underworld,’ and we have what is known as a grand square or a T-square between three of the most powerful outer planets. Add Jupiter, and we have a grand square involving four planets. In other words, planetary occurrences like this don’t happen very often and are sure to bring changes in circumstances for the world and for us as individuals.

Saturn relates to structure, duty, discipline, organization and delays. When it aspects your personal planets in a positive way you can experience some of the greatest gains of a lifetime. When it aspects your personal planets in a square, conjunction or opposition the result is often disappointment, delays, responsibilities and endings of situations. It has entered Libra the natural ruler of the seventh house of marriage and partnerships of all kinds as well as the law and legal matters.

Uranus is the planet of sudden, unexpected disruptions and events that appear to come from nowhere. With Uranus you can expect the unexpected. Uranus rules electricity, revolutions and freedom. The planet of delays, restriction and structure enters the sign ruling relationships and partnerships for a two year stay until October 7, 2012. Saturn is leaving Virgo, the sign ruling work, the earth, health and healthcare for 30 years. Those born under the Sun Sign Virgo can breathe easier as Saturn leaves their first house, easing up the restrictions and responsibilities as it transits into Libra. Now Virgo’s will be able to see the results of all their labor over the past two and a half years.

The transit took so much out of him that he simply could not run again.

It took until 1982, almost 16 years, to make more than a marginal new high and begin a new bull market. And that period was a cupcake compared to what we are facing now. No matter what the next decade holds for us, we as individuals and as a collective must find ways to enjoy life and to redefine our needs.

Jupiter retrogrades on July 23rd, and then squares Pluto the next day. Historically, when Jupiter retrogrades it represents a top for the stock market about 80% of the time. With the square to Pluto following immediately after I must assume this will be a very bad week for the markets. The stocks represent our collective wealth as much as anything can. Pluto rules all things held jointly, especially financial matters. When Pluto squares Saturn, the stock markets go down. When Pluto squares Jupiter, they can go in either direction, but usually exacerbating the prevailing one. In other words, if the markets have been going up they will go up faster. If they have been going down… well, you get the point.

When Jupiter opposes Saturn as it will August 16th 2010, historically the markets also go down. There are very few bullish signals, although a good trader could cherry-pick and find some strong investments opportunities.

Any of the major issues we have been watching, including the Gulf, the financial markets, the governmental infighting, to name a few, could be blown out of proportion now with the combination of transits. Remember, Jupiter does not always bring you good things. Usually it brings you more – of anything. For example:

All of the major issues we have been discussing are precariously perched on the side of an historic precipice. Our financial markets, the Gulf catastrophe, the recent insane Supreme Court decisions on election finances, gun control, etc. are all leading up to an internal power struggle the likes of which this country has only seen a few times. As we approach the changes that will be necessary to truly enter the Aquarian Age, the collective works in unconscious ways to further that event, including breaking down any situations, businesses or governments that are preventing that transition. We will see the reversal of power in a number of situations throughout the world, as we did in 1965-7, the last time Saturn opposes Uranus. This will set off a number of nation’s charts as well as that of some national leaders. Mr. Obama has Venus at one and a half degrees Cancer. This won’t pass without affecting his life severely.

Pluto rules oil, as I have proven through the years in my lectures and predictions. With Pluto about to square Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Mars, I don’t think we are about to get any good news from the Gulf. The entire population of migrating birds in the Western Hemisphere, approximately one billion, stops in the Gulf of Mexico on their journey. ONE BILLION BIRDS. The government is paying farmers in the Gulf States to flood their fields north of the Gulf in the hopes that the birds will land there instead. One can pray, but do you think a species that has stopped in the same place for 25,000 years will suddenly make a detour because we put up a “Rest Area” sign somewhere else? He won’t be remembered by the world after a few days, but will be forever mourned by his friends and family. Nate Henn was the 25 year old American man murdered by terrorists linked to Al-Quaeda at the World Cup in Uganda over the weekend. The terrorist attack was another act of inhumanity that is being escalated as we experience the explosive transit of Pluto squaring Uranus, and Saturn approaching its entrance into Libra on July 22. The three planets will form a T-Square that is indicative of violence and sudden explosive events and situations.

Nate was an 18 degree Gemini, with Saturn, the planet of structure, discipline and duty in his sixth house of work, and service to others. He had a moon in compassionate Pisces and it created a harmonious trine to his tenth house of career and profession, making him the perfect candidate for the work he did. His Venus was in Taurus in his twelfth house giving him a love of solitude at times, and the twelfth house represents sacrificial service. On Sunday, July 11, Pluto, the planet of transformation was within 1 degree of his natal Neptune in his eighth house. Uranus at 0 degrees of Aries squared his Neptune and also his Mars creating the potential for accidents and explosive incidents. Saturn was within days of squaring his Mars exact, and his Neptune as well. Mars was at 18 degrees of Virgo creating an exact square to his Gemini Sun. Venus, the planet of love, entered Virgo for the next 29 days, Saturday July 10. Mars, the planet of sex, male energy and action entered Virgo last month. Solar Eclipse in Cancer-Iran 2010-No Place for Women

As we approach the weekend solar eclipse in emotional Cancer the ruler of women, one of the most compelling stories relates to the news story out of Iran about a Mother of two sentenced to death for alleged adultery by stoning. It is hard to believe such barbaric practices still exist in the world, but stoning is a way of execution in Iran for men and women. Women may be stoned to death on the word of a man who accuses them of adultery or improper conduct. Judges may rely on their ‘instinct,’ without even having sufficient evidence of the crime of adultery in that country and condemn a woman to a cruel death. Women are buried up to their shoulders in the ground before being pelted in the face and head by rocks until they are dead. Violence against women for any infraction is wrong and should be stopped.

In Iran’s natal chart the moon, representative of women, is at seven degrees of Aries. July-August 2010-Moments of Truth

July 2010 is a month of change in the world, and the way we live on planet Earth, but it will not be without turmoil, upheaval and unexpected events on the world stage that will affect our lives.

The June 26 lunar eclipse in Capricorn conjuncted Pluto making it an intense time with a multitude of events. Capricorn relates to the Earth, and the world saw massive flooding in Brazil leaving hundreds dead and many more homeless and injured. Tornadoes and hurricanes appeared in parts of the world that are normally free of such events and the BP oil spill continued and still continues to take its toll on humanity and all life in its path. Events will be further complicated by rough seas and the hurricane, ‘Alex,’ as it makes landfall. Pluto is known as the ‘God of the Underworld’, and can relate to crime and underworld figures and within hours of the eclipse 10 alleged Russian spies were arrested by American Intelligence agencies, and the head of the Afghanistan war left his post under fire.

At this time we will be forced to look at new ways of doing things both individually and as a collective. Nowhere is it more apparent that we must find new ways of caring for the earth, than the oil spill in the Gulf. I do not expect the spill to be contained any time in the near future and as all life in the sea (and human ways of life) continues to be wiped out, public outrage will increase. This is signified by Uranus entering Aries-the sign of the individual. Aries is ruled by Mars, the God of War, and in another time the collective might have ‘taken up arms,’ against BP. It is not out of the realm of possibility that individuals will ‘take up arms,’ and rebel against governments around the world that are no longer working for the people. Jupiter is in Aries as well, and whatever Jupiter touches it expands. We will see breakthroughs in science and technology, but Aries is ruled by Mars, the God of War and we are at risk of explosions, fires and unexpected outbreaks of war and violence throughout the summer.

The solar eclipse on July 11 is the companion eclipse to the previous one in Capricorn. Eclipses come in pairs, and we continue to experience eclipses in Capricorn/Cancer until next summer. Eclipses serve as guideposts showing us the direction and theme of events we will encounter for some time to come. Capricorn is the natural ruler of the tenth house of business, priorities and reputation and rules the Earth, business, banking, mining and the financial markets. Cancer is the natural ruler of the fourth house, the foundation, the home and the homeland and is called, ‘the end of the matter.’ Clearly, these eclipses deal with the end of an old way of life, and it is up to us to discover and invent new ways of life.

The New Moon/ solar eclipse is at 19 degrees of Cancer on July 11, 2010 at 3:40 PM EST. Cancer is an emotional sign and ruler of the home and homeland. It’s ruler is the moon, the luminary body that changes every 24 hours. The US is a Cancer country and we will be dealing with events that affect the fourth-tenth houses. In other words, our home/homeland and priorities. Mercury trines Jupiter giving the day potential for upbeat communication in general and communication regarding the government (s). But, Venus is conjunct Saturn in a parallel (similar to a conjunction where the two planets are together at the same degree) creating a somber mood. This eclipse is of emphasis to the White House, the UK, Vatican City, Los Angeles, Manhattan, NYC and Roswell, NM.” Those signs most affected by the eclipse will be Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra, or those who have personal planets in a sign being aspected by the new moon.

Of course, the most important event in July and the entire year is Saturn’s entrance into Libra on July 22. It will remain in the sign ruling laws, governments, relationships and partnerships of all types until October of 2012. Saturn gives us structure and stability, but not without restrictions delays and hardships. Any gain through Saturn is earned, not given.

There will be struggles over laws, partnerships, individuals and corporations, and the potential for additional Earth changes/events. If the Gulf Oil spill has not been stopped it will reach a critical mass. This aspect will be present until mid-August, and it does not have to be exact for events to occur.

The last time this configuration occurred was in 1930. Three months after the Stock Market crash of 1929, Pluto was in Cancer, Saturn was in Capricorn and Uranus was in Aries, as it is today. The transit occurred again in 1932. During that year there was a massive famine in the Ukraine and four million people starved to death between winter of 1932 and summer of 1933, and of course it was the decade of the Great Depression that lead up to the events of WW11. We are at risk of food shortages globally.

The most prominent dates in July are July 30-31 as Mars conjuncts Saturn in Libra setting off the T-Square. Mars/Saturn typically relates to police or military action and Libra rules laws and governments, although the Libra energy is conducive to balance. Mars will square Pluto-the ‘God of the Underworld,’ August 2- 6. This is a difficult transit and will create struggles and problems in business and the financial markets as well as events that relate to the Earth, and the government (s). There will be power struggles involving relationships, political, professional and military affairs and in the US we will see events transpire overseas that affect America. It is a dangerous transit and relates to underworld activity, violence, criminals and creates conflict over joint finances-the tax system, banking and debt. In the US chart it creates a square to the financial planets resulting in the potential for problems in the financial markets, problems overseas and with laws. August 7-9 Venus conjuncts Saturn and opposes Uranus. This is basically an unsettling financial transit which can cause fluctuations. On October 29, 1929, ‘Black Tuesday,’ Venus opposed Uranus at 10 degrees of Libra. Jupiter opposing Uranus creates financial fluctuations as well, and wealth can be suddenly created or destroyed as Uranus is the planet of unpredictability. With Uranus, we can always expect the unexpected.

In US President Obama’s chart this configuration creates a grand square to his Venus. Venus rules money, financial markets, values and women. Pluto is within 2 degrees of opposing his Venus, meaning he has issues and obstacles relating to money and defining his actual values, which have been changing. Saturn squares his Venus indicating he is not in a favorable time where his popularity is concerned. Uranus in Aries also squares his Venus indicating problems with monetary issues and women in particular, as well as laws, and getting laws passed. This Grand Cross is set off as Mars conjuncts Saturn at the end of the month, and it will be a memorable time for America’s President as he is faced with mounting debt and monetary issues, laws and bills, extreme opposition and volatility in the world.

July’s full moon occured 2 degrees in Aquarius. Aquarius rules the collective, the ‘we’ on planet earth. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of rebellion and often occurs in situations of military actions, rebellions and coups. The influence of the full moon will set the tone until the new moon in Leo on August 10.

Aquarius also rules corporations, and it is the natural ruler of the 11th house of friends, hopes and wishes. Mercury opposed Neptune, ruling water and oil, and we have seen unusual weather conditions and flooding in Chicago, and the departure of BP's Tony Hayward. Another oil gyser has appeared off the coast of Louisania.

The biggest story however, dealt with the leaks of military documents and disclosures of mid-deeds in the war in Afganastan. There will be much more to come in this situation/story. Saturn in Libra will brings struggles and shifts in power among nations.
